I said any skilled hacker wouldn’t let his origination be known, so if it was so obvious it was Ukraine then it was done on purpose that way.

Because there isn’t anyone on this planet that can trace through VPN and cloud services, so being so obvious with origination and attribution wasn’t done by mistake.

But you keep insulting me.

There’s a lot of things I need, and quite a few I don’t. I guess we disagree on where the questioning of my experience and opinion ranks. You and I both know this isn’t the first time I’ve put myself out there in a thread related to this topic. I don’t feel I need to post my credentials, and you can decide if I’m bluffing, guess one will never know. Having to substantiate my opinion after 15 years on this board compared to some random ignorant statement made on social media?, that is insulting.

I can't think of any other active member who is as sensitive as you. It's as if you are unable to comprehend that I run this place. Oh, wait, I'm insulting you again, huh?

And, oh, here's a minor point; nothing important, really:

And this. Nothing, really:

What did I say that needed you to prove you run this place?

You’re copping out, Mike. I never said you don’t run this place, that’s why I pointed out you knowing I’ve approached this topic more than once, to show that I understand you are in a position to question me, but doing so for the third time in a similar capacity and topic proves you have more than just a moderator owner stake in doing so.

I’m not gonna lose sleep tonight. So let’s stop from being one step away from, “you mad, bro?” cause that’s where you’re going with this.

If you can’t see your interactions with me in this thread as unnecessary and insulting then you’re either lying or ignorant, neither is a good look.

Now, do whatever you like but I’ve said my peace. Everyone else can enjoy the thread, I’m done.

I don't need to prove that I run this place. What I said was it's as if you are unable to comprehend that fact. Now, just who is it that's copping out?

And I call you by your screen name, not your real name. You do the same for me. That's not a request. I know why you did that. Don't do it. Period.

With all you've been through, I would have thought you might have grown a pair of brass nuts, but you're awful quick to get butt hurt.

I called you out on your comments here because you're behaving as if the man who runs one of the largest websites in the world and has top engineers on staff doesn't know what he's talking about, and that's just silly.

It's funny that you think my interactions with members here should be restricted to "necessary". This is illustrative of you behaving as if you can't comprehend that I own every inch of this place and will participate in it as I please, and before you balk at that, you need to acknowledge that I normally refrain from saying such things, to the degree that I don't wear the title of 'Owner' under my avatar, and when some FNG says "who the fuck are you?" they hardly ever get a straight answer.

Oh, and one more thing:

You've pulled this shit before. Let's get something straight: you don't have the slightest fucking idea of what I think or where I'm "going" with anything, so just keep that shit to yourself.

You need to read Robby Starbuck's post more carefully, he's not an idiot. He did not state the left was staging these attacks, he stated that a "massive cyber attack" was being carried out against X. When he referred to the left's attacks, he pointed to Tesla specifically. The point of his post was a call to support Musk.

On an occasional basis I turn on CNBC during the day just to see what might be going on. Today it is non-stop "Trump is going to start a recession," and "investors are spooked by the actions of this administration and Musk." It is all TDS all the time. No coverage of the ddos against X, but the timing of it "feels" very coincidental. Wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that these talking heads hold a short position in TSLA.

You sure do get a lot wrong for one who claims to be an expert.

In Otto's defense, I'll note that the "IT world" (or even its subset "cybersecurity") is so broad in terms of scope and technology that one can be a stone cold "expert" in one area, with no more than a passing understanding of others. For example, there's a guy who I shoot black powder with who is incredibly knowledgeable about military communications technologies, but who could not tell you how many bits in an IP address.

I have tremendous respect for the expertise shown by certain members here, ensigmatic and SMSchultz in particular stand out, time after time, but we have found many points of disagreement when it comes to specific technologies.

Even if Trump admin actions cause a recession, I'm not sure it's all bad. Yes, perhaps there is some short term pain. But there may be significant long term gains which are the basis of the admin actions.

If Canada and Mexico expend their budget and resources to stop border crossings and drug trafficking across the border and relaxes our enforcement efforts and reduces the plague on society, that seems like a significant long term win that may make a short term albeit painful recession palatable.
