Our local mullet wrapper, Pensacola News-Journal, has had it in for Scott ever since he dissed meeting with their editorial board when he ran for governor. The cartoonist, who is quite good but a screaming liberal, has lampooned Scott constantly. But I have noticed a slight change in tone recently. The PNJ actually ran an article on Scott that listed his accomplishments as governor vs. campaign promises. When I read it, I nearly spit out my coffee. And now the potty-mouthed cartoonist has lampooned Nelson and Gillum. What's going on at the paper? A sea change?

I don’t know anything about Florida politics, but I’ve detected a “hedging of bets” in the leftist news media recently.

All of that “blue wave” crap that they’ve been spewing since early last year with their opinion polls was manufactured to rile up their party bass. BUT, it isn’t there, and now in order to retain any of their credibility, they have to lower the expectations. A “red tide” actually might be in the offing with both Senate and House staying in Republican hands.

Conservatives are interested in the election because of the hearings. Suddenly, the GOP is in trouble again though according to the media, but there is no reason outside of their fake news. It is all being manufactured to discourage conservatives from voting.

Conservatives would walk over hot coals to vote.
It's the middle-of-the road, uninformed voter you have to worry about. They aren't ideological and they often don't care who wins. They may, or may not, vote depending on if someone can rile them up enough to 'feel like it' that day. They are the ones who can be influenced by fake news.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I understand what you are saying, but most of these polls and stories are being manufactured by the media. I read a story today about how the Senate may be in play again for Democrats. Sure. There is no reason for the pendulum to be swinging back towards the Democrats outside of fake news.

Took the dog out for a walk tonight (weather's gorgeous right now). There are two liberal nitwits that live next door to each other in a neighborhood up the road from me who were sporting their new Bill Nelson, Andrew Gillum yard signs. Apparently my 70 pound hound felt much as I do about these people and their leanings, and added a rather huge lawn ornament directly to the center of one yard. I knew it was a juvenile act, but whatever.

Does that mean I agree with people doing that? No, just that it is a logical reaction to Scott’s decision to act out of emotion and not logic.

To me, that sounds like he is more in tune with lib BS than doing what is right. Going against the 2A is not a good way to win votes from conservative voters! I don't live in Fla and I have no horse in that race.

If Scott is willing to do what he did to win a few libtard votes, what else will he do? How far left is he willing to turn to stay in power?

It seems that you were helping them out by adding another liberal sign in their yard; one that exhibits the liberal platform.

***UPDATE*** The owner of that house apparently found Lou's contribution to his yard, reviewed his security camera footage (who knew, who cares), then called my house this afternoon to complain and insist I return and remove the lawn art. Razz Coward knows where I live, but as most liberals, he couldn't muster enough sack to come talk to me face to face. Anyway, I told him the lawn art was our gift to him, and that he could admire it, dispose of it, or eat it, I really didn't care. I also mentioned there was a high probability that the next time we venture by his home on one of our nightly walks, ole Lou will add another piece to his lawn art collection. Dude threw a couple expletives my way and hung up. Wonder if he'll report me to the sheriff's department? Good chance the responding officer will be someone I know personally. Ah, it's been a very good weekend. Smile

REALLY?? Truly a DICK move!!! If that was me, and I knew who you were, I'd bag that shit and sling it up against your front door!!! My wife and I pick up our boys crawl when we walk them, as any decent people do. Politics doesn't have anything to do with picking up after your dog.

Regardless of that potential, he's far better than Nelson.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but understand, I have a mile or two of very bad history with this asshole that has virtually nothing to do with politics. Had Lou done his business 'anywhere' else, I'd have used one (or two) of the plastic bags that are always in my pocket when we go out for our walks to clean it up. I loathe this asshole on multiple levels, so he ought to count his blessings that a little dog crap on his lawn is all he's dealing with from me. As I told him one time before, if his home ever catches fire, I'm going to park myself in a lawn chair in front of it, cool drink in hand, and watch it burn to the foundation without ever considering a call to the FD. Yes, I loathe this piece of garbage that much.

Its a toss up at the moment, but Scott's TV ads are miles better than Nelson's, so I hope that helps move that last group of voters who haven't already decided who to vote for yet.
