In the spirit of the Ted Cruz thread, what's the boots on the ground view of the Florida Senate race? It seems very tight. If Scott pulls thus out, it would be a big slap down to the Democrats.

I’m going to vote for sure but he is getting pounded in the media. Folks are going to have to do like they did last time and lock out the BS and get out and vote!

It'll be a nail biter for sure. I did my part but people have to get out and vote.

Nelson is an entrenched swamp creature and the media is hammering Scott every chance they get.

Its gonna be down to the wire.

Of course he can win. All it takes is for the Trump Base to show up! And I believe we will.

I think Trump will hold a close to the election Florida Rally for him if it stays neck and neck.

They're broadcasting the same BS they did when Scott won the governor's office. Nothing new that people haven't already heard. Those ads are falling on deaf ears outside the liberal enclaves in Florida that are already Nelson voters. 'Yes', Rick Scott has a great opportunity to send that POS Bill Nelson to the dust bin of history on November 5th if people just commit to go vote. I'll be casting my vote for Mr. Scott.

Scott is down 6 to 8 points today. Thats a lot of ground to make up. PLUS many of the juvenile gun voters are writing in C. Heston or some other person to prove a "point" to Scott, since he signed the bump stock ban and increasing the purchase age to 21 from 18.

Well, as a Republican that was a VERY stupid thing to do on Scotts part.

He had to know that by doing so, it would cost him votes.

Does that mean I agree with people doing that? No, just that it is a logical reaction to Scott’s decision to act out of emotion and not logic.

Now that Gillum has stated that when LEO’s draw a gun, pull a baton or use a taser, they’ve gone too far, he may have open the door for Scott. Let us hope so..

How so? Gillum is running for governor against DeSantis and Scott is running for senator against Nelson.

i agree with rhinowso, knee jerk gun laws only cost rep votes. they never get any. the other side will never vote for you.

but man do i want to see two rep senators from fl...and a rep fl governor. immature but true.

DeSantes is running for Gov.

Scott can't run for Gov again (he is currently the Gov), so he's running for a Senate seat, which Nelson has held for awhile.

I've begun to think the only way Nelson loses his seat if if he retires or dies, other than that unseating him will be difficult.

But I put my vote in for Scott, and Desantis.

The news and paid support ads are relentless beating on Desantis and Scott.

Oh, now that's brilliant. Undermine Scott and make CERTAIN a true gun-grabbing fascist stays in office. Yep, that'll show 'em.

What will they do next, hold their breath and stamp their feet?

I think it'll be another media apology saying, "Oh well, we tried." The media's treated Scott like they've treated Trump. Nelson's been in for over 40 years and doesn't have much, if anything, to show for it. FL voters are fed up with D.C. politicians not doing anything for them, like what's happening with the Red Tide issue. Bottom line, Scott's got things done as Governor, so he deserves a chance as Senator. All my family's voted for him.

When we went to vote this week, we were accosted by every candidate's camp. We talked with most of them and took some of their cards inside with us. We got the speech by someone in Nelson's camp last(intentional). I was standing behind my wife while we listened and took a 6X8 color card.
Then I stepped in front of my wife, exposing my t-shirt. She asked for the card back.

Yup, the local Florida gun boards on Facebook are littered with "patriots" just itching to vote for Bill Nelson or write in a candidate, to prove to Scott that he lost their vote.

No amount of explaining how things actually work matters. Trump might have to appoint 2 supreme court candidates in the next 2 years, and these stompy feet losers are voting for a communist to prove a point to Gov. Scott. Losers.
