Sad story. Poor response again from Kim Foxx. ROBBINS, Ill. — Three teenagers involved in a fatal crash that killed a 70-year-old man have been released from custody, and the victim’s family want to know why. Donald Carter Sr. was driving on Kedzie Avenue in his hometown of Robbins Sunday afternoon, when his car was struck by a stolen Kia — ending in a violent crash that took his life. According to police, the three teens in the stolen vehicle were all 13-years-old boys. Carter Sr.’s family, as well as leaders in the village, are calling on Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx to move quicker in this case. “We lost a loved one. I have not seen one apology. Someone needs to apologize to this family for our loss,” said Carter’s niece Tracy Olawumi. His family is bewildered as to why the boys, arrested by Robbins police at the scene, were allowed free from jail and back into the custody of their parents. “I don’t care if they are kids, they did wrong,” said Carter’s sister Bertha Olawumi. Investigation underway after woman shot to death in Hanover Park Police said Carter Sr.’s car was hit at a high-rate of speed by the three teens, after stealing the vehicle they were in. Robbins police said they have done everything by the book, including holding the teens for the maximum 24-hours while waiting for the Cook County state’s attorney to sign off on a search warrant and get charges against the teens approved. Foxx’s office released the following statement Tuesday: “This is a continuing police investigation. Please check with them for any updates.” Carter Sr. was a retired mechanic and the father of six kids, according to his family. LINK: https://wgntv.com/news/south-s...hat-led-to-death-of-

Realistically, what do they expect them to do with 13-year olds? Rhetorical question. I do hope that the little shits end up facing consequences as serious and unpleasant as are possible under the local law.

Juvenile detention. These kids were part of a ring stealing cars which ultimately killed a man. The predominantly black community is angry. Many of the carjackings are committed by teens with guns. These kids are seasoned criminals.

Don't worry, we will see them again when they are a little older. Why would they have any reason to change their ways?

Sad state of affairs. Why acknowledge the problem if it risks offending their voter base.

A little older? yes, technically a few months from now would make them "a little older". ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Sounds harsh, but at least there wouldn’t be any recidivism.

Don't care that they are fucking teenagers. These are real criminals that killed an innocent man. I have no problems seeing them executed. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 12131, Q

I never really got behind "they're just kids and don't know what they're doing". They know exactly what they're doing and if they want to play adult games they should win adult prizes.

And before they can breed and further infest the world with more criminals. It seems the shittiest people breed the most. _____________

I'm retired from a state dept of corrections. Before that, I worked at a county prison. I watched many of little punks that were frequent flyers at county, graduate to the big times at state prison for advanced criminal education. One of the many useless studies the state DOC did found that over 90% of those released from the state DOC were back within 2 years. I've seen many of those released on parole get returned the same week of their release, and even the same day. That's only felonies, and not even counting those who just got county time for misdemeanors. No matter how many do-gooder programs liberals can think up there are just some people out there who will never amount to anything as long as they have a hole in their ass. ------------------------------------------------ "It's hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way of making decisions, than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." Make no mistake, I agree with all of the pro-serious-punishment positions. And yes, unless they have an epiphany (doubtful) I'm sure they will come to the attention of The Man again soon after their 18th birthdays, and the cycle will begin anew. I'm just saying that the odds of them facing any serious punishment for this are small at best, and when they transition from juveniles to "adults" their records will likely be erased. All is forgiven, after all they were "only children" and didn't know better. ![]()

I say it's in the context. Kids will shoplift a toy or a candy bar. These "kids" stole a car and I don't think it was even for a joy ride. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
