Currently, my wife and I have two cats and a dog.

Cat #1: 'Kiowa' - named by my ex-mother in-law. We got Kiowa from one of my ex-wife's girl friends. She'd found the small litter of kittens at her work place and brought them home. The MIL got the name from the helicopters I used to work on in the Army, ( Kiowa Warrior. )

Cat #2: my wife picked up from a local shelter. 'Bullet' got his name due to how he often darted quickly around the house after we got him home. The shelter had named him 'Boo', but 'Bullet' seemed much more fitting.

Dog: named 'Brody' by my wife. He was a stray who'd wandered up to her home, ( before we were married ) and he became her best buddy and guard dog. She named him after a character in one of the books she was reading at the time, ( the book's title escapes her right now. )

I had a 140 lb Rottie named Fritz. He just looked like Fritz. A huge personality and fantastic guardian. He's been gone more than 30 years and I still miss him.

We got a brother and sister Yorkshire Terriers. Tried to come up with names finally decide on Duke and Duchess of York. They lived up to their names.

We've had two German Shepard's. Our first one we named Ranger and second one we named Bullet. They sounded like good GSD names.

Last couple of dogs were named Lucky and Pepper. Lucky came from a puppy mill, so we considered her and ourselves 'lucky' that she didn't have any health issues early on. Pepper fit her black and white coat, but not her passive/sedate personality.

We are so literal.

Our first Rottweiler was a stray. We named her after a childhood dog. Sheba.

Our first puppy was a Rottweiler male and we named him Thor. Thor passed away at only 1 1/2.

Our second puppy was from the same breeder and was a cousin to Thor. We named him Loki and he will be 4 this week.

my dog is a rescue. He came pre-named Cisco from the shelter. I altered it a bit, and call him The Cisco Kid.

This is Taz. She showed up in our back yard when she was just a little kitten. It didn't take long to realize that she had a large dose of the devil in her, thus the name. We lost her last month after 17 wonderful years.

We have a GSD named Rocky, he was named after Rocky Balboa. He's been our one in a million dog, never be another one quite like him.

My GSD is named Phydough because Fido doesn’t sound pretentious enough. Actually he is Phydough III, I have reissued the name a few times. He is a big dork, so a serious name just would not fit.

Two outdoor cats, Spot and Rover. Spot has a white spot on the tip of his tail and Rover? Well....why not, I’ve already started down that road.

The indoor cat is referred to as Nameless because she hasn’t yet earned her proper name, although the vets office has her listed officially as Nameless.

My 11.5 YO Canaan Dog is named "Zhora" after one of the replicants in my all time favorite movie Blade Runner.

3 dogs. (1). Rufus King Graham our noble coonhound 80lb lap dog. (2). Wingnut, Aussie cattle dog aka " THE BRAIN" smartest dog we'd ever met. We named him Wingnut after the "Wingnut" as when we adopted him his ears, pointed straight up in a cool shape and height Lastly is "Highway" another Aussie the "Dog from hell". He was found roaming on the median of a Highway in West Virginia. He is a psycho took him to 2 different trainers and he learned the most basic commands only. We still love him.

A cat named Tippet. When we first got him, when drinking out of the water bowl, he would tip it, spilling water on the floor. We subsequently got a heavy, full-sized, flat-bottom ceramic dog bowl for him. He can drag it a little, but not tip it over.

Our female Yorkie, Chloe, could be Duchess's twin sister.

Our first Yorkie was a male, he was a sweetheart compared to the current demon spawn.

Our cat was called "Gaiter". He was born with double front paws. Until he grew into them, we would high step around the house to avoid tripping over them - sort of like a gaited horse.

We have a black and tan coonhound. He just turned six the past month. We got him from a breeder in Oklahoma we live in Massachusetts. He spent more than 18 hours in travel. I didn't realize airlines didn't handle animals better so long story short he tuffed it out like a marine with the vets help. So I decided to name him Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He had stomach issues at first got through that from ages 3 to 5 we were battling allergies with his ears at first then all 4 paws got to the point he couldn't walk. Thanks to Tufts he's a normal stubborn black and tan again.

This is Helga The Horrible. She's an Old English Bulldog. Almost three years old now.
It's kind of a takeoff on the syndicated cartoon "Hagar The Horrible" whose wife was Helga.
When Helga was a tiny puppy at the Breeders house, she was healthy and energetic.
But soon after she came home to our place she started getting sick.
Her nickname became "Shatinator"
She ate endlessly, and shit everywhere. Explosive diarrhea. On the carpets, walls and inside her crate.
Just about wore out the carpet shampooer.
Intestinal bleeding, we almost lost her. Many expensive Vet visits. Almost nine months of misery.
Chatting with a neighbor one day, he mentioned that he had a German Shepard that was allergic to Seresto flea/tick collars.
He said that his dog had the same symptoms.
When we returned home, we took Helga's Seresto collar off. Within hours, all symptoms were gone and never returned.
It turns out a Seresto collar is sold as an insecticide, not a medication. So a different level of regulation (lesser) than a medication that would actually be ingested.
She's healthy now, a fairly recent thing is she's allergic to something in her environment and takes a daily antihistamine. Helga is the nicest dog ever!

I had to go out of state some years ago for a few days. Helga pouted the entire time I was gone.

Ours is Izzy,a GSD mixed with maybe black mouth Cur or Ridgeback..She was a Rescue from Houston after the hurricane 3 years ago. The foster parents named her Izzy so she remains Izzy..Because of her energy level DizzyIzzy is more appropriate...
