I've always have been a big fan of nicotine. Tucker Carlson says it better than I ever could. Do whatever you want for yourself, but don't quote any Fed agency as serious proof, post covid. I've been on the food as medicine before RFK Jr's campaign. Flip the food pyramid upside down and we would all be more healthy. _____________________________ Off finding Galt's Gulch

It’s a good thing the Zyn pouches the op is talking about are 3-6mg instead of the 50-60mg you’re talking about.

Anything can be toxic to the body if taken too much of it. The fact is, nicotine has shown to have many positive effects. Besides the ones already listed, it also increases testosterone. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

If you don't already use tobacco products don't try to start using nicotine pouches. When I started working, I would say 75% of the men at my work dipped. I'm very fortunate when I said I wanted to try it (peer pressure) an old guy gave me a big ole wad of Copenhagen. It was at the end of a long 12 hour day and I was dehydrated. The room started spinning and it literally put me on the floor. I puked and felt sick for an hour or so and never touched the stuff again. Looking back now he knew exactly what he was doing and I thank him for it every time I think about it. Most of those same guys that dipped now use Zyn (although at least two of them I know of have had oral cancer). It's a synthetic nicotine product. What will the long term health hazards of it be? Nobody knows yet. I for one would not roll the dice to find out. Proverbs 28:1

The ill effects of certain behaviors often don’t become apparent until they become common enough, and even then it can take a long time for them to be recognized, but longer still to become acknowledged. That was probably most famously demonstrated by the increased incidence of previously-rare lung cancer after cigarette smoking became much more common. In a somewhat ironic quirk of history, it was doctors in Germany during the Nazi era that were the first to issue significant warnings against smoking. What I find interesting is the claim I’ve sometimes heard, including from a Dutch smoker acquaintance, that smokers are actually less of a drain on public healthcare systems than nonsmokers because smokers die earlier. I’ve never tried to determine if that was true, but I cannot wonder if smokers still run up the same amount of costs because their ills start earlier in life. As an example of how accepted “knowledge” changes over time, I’ll never forget being told in my early law enforcement education that cocaine wasn’t addictive. In retrospect I can only think that was the belief because cocaine use was relatively uncommon at the time. And then for decades after marijuana use became common and accepted, the standard line was that it was harmless. ► 6.4/93.6 “It is peace for our time.” — Neville the Appeaser

I’ve never used Zyn or nicotine pouches, but I did try vaping when I was curious about nicotine years ago. For someone with no tolerance, the buzz was subtle, kind of a light-headed feeling and a mild energy boost. But honestly, it wasn’t enjoyable enough to make it a habit, especially since it felt nauseating sometimes. If you’re not already into nicotine, the downsides (like dependency or dizziness) would probably outweigh the benefits. It’s not anything like the relaxing buzz of bourbon that you mentioned. If you’re curious about vaping though, there are plenty of devices that cater to beginners looking for something easy to use, like the latest Innokin E-Cigarettes. They aim at giving a smooth and controlled experience, which might be worth considering if you're exploring alternatives. This message has been edited.
