Words fail to describe the absolute disgust I harbor towards Apple and their phones. Who makes the most suitable replacement currently? I need to get the fuck rid of my iPhone.

The others are not as easy to use and reliable. Stick with an I phone. I know it sucks but true

Maybe give an Android a try.
I've never had an IPhone so I couldn't agree or disagree with you but I've had a few versions of the Samsung Galaxy and have been happy.
Right now I have a Galaxy S8 Active and I like it. I will probably upgrade this year sometime to another Galaxy.

On my 3rd Samsung (S4 Active, Note5, S9+) after an iPhone 4.

S4 cracked screen, Note had the charging port die, S9 going strong.

I'm a Google Pixel user. The switch from an iPhone6 was easy deadset easy for me, trf of contacts, etc.
I migrated to the Pixel, more for the take a picture now camera features.

But ...

Do you want to only use a basic phone for just a few intended needs, like for calls, messages, reminders, that sort of usage?

But have no need for a smartphone?

Well, how about a flip phone?
Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile - Alcatel, Kazuna, Orbic, Sonim are some of the brands.

And all these are all made in China.

... just a thought ...

Why are you annoyed with Apple and your iPhone? That might help others come up with suggestions.

It’s time for a change. You want to know why?

I’m sick of the God damned planned obsolescence. I’m sick of my phone activating the absolute stupid once it gets a few years old. There is NO FUCKING REASON for autocorrect to suddenly acquire a complete inability to function as it used to.

Those fuckers made my phone stupid intentionally. They got sued for it and weaseled their way out of what should have been a billion dollar law suit.

I’m sick of fucking with the cursor on the “intelligent touch screen” which often highlights and then deletes everything I just typed.

I’m sick of the smug mother fuckers who bend the knee at the alter of Apple and worship its mediocrity.

I’m sick of the terrible battery life.

I’m sick of fucking with a phone for 7 hours only to discover that the SIM card is incompatible. This is after painstakingly deleting things in hopes a new OS will allow the old phone to transfer its info to the new phone.

I am so god damned sick of Apple I don’t think this post is even necessary.

Which Samsung do you guys recommend? I’m giving this phone to my dad (he could use a better phone) and starting over. Mad Mad Mad

Oh and fuck apple

I have an iPhone and Google Pixel 2.

Far prefer the Pixel 2.

Get the Pixel 3, or the 4a, but skip the 4.

Nice rant!

*shrug* My wife and I have iPhone 6S', which are by no means the latest and greatest, and they're working fine--for us. I've had Android stuff in the past and you couldn't *give* me one. *Particularly* a Samsung device. (I won't bore you with the many reasons why.) But if you're fed up with Apple you're fed up with Apple. Good luck with your quest for an acceptable replacement.

I have never had an issue with an iPhone. I’m no fan of Apple but their shit just works. And in contrast to everything else, those bending the knee that you loathe, mean resale value is higher than anything else. So when it’s time for me to upgrade (I have to carry a smartphone for my employment) I get damn good value. The trick is not wait longer than 3 years to sell it and upgrade. My current iPhone XR battery lasts all day, actually almost 2 days without charging.

The trick to keeping a battery strong is to not let it dip below 20%. The 100% to single digits repeatedly will deteriorate it. So top off frequently.

Having said all that. Go Android. My friends on Android use Samsung Galaxy’s.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I’ve had every iPhone that’s come out since the 3GS I think it was...

That being said, I’ve gotten tired and bored with apple at times. I tried the new Samsung S20 Ultra for two weeks. Lots of cool things about it, but infinitely more difficult to use (Android). *So* many more settings to get use to. I never could get it to function to my liking.

I'm a fan of my OnePlus, great pictures easy to use, intuitive. They were supposed to be releasing latest one this month but I'm guessing it's pushed back, since like Apple's, they are from China.

The funny thing is, that iPhone users complain about the phone having "planned obsolescence" after a couple years.

I read that the average age of an Android phone is about a year. That most Android users replace their phones that fast.

The OS on my Samsung smart TV has been ok. I’m willing to take the risk. It CANT be worse than a FN Apple piece of shit.

20% ?!?! Yikes! Avoid regularly dipping below 40-50%, if you can avoid it, on *any* Li-Ion rechargeable device. It's heat that shortens their lifetime, and long recharge cycles = heat.

Recharging at 70-80% is best, if you can.

I do every two generations. Not because they are obsolete, but because I want latest and greatest. Also I don't have a real camera, so I really want the best cellphone camera I can get to take pics of my kitties, dinners, guns, and my car.
