This was the ultimate for my peer group. If a girl agreed to (slow) dance with you to this song, it really meant something. Open this up on youtube and read the comments, and you'll get the idea.

Another great one:

The kind of music my parents were litening to back in the late 60’s-early 70’s when we went to the beach for a week in the rumble seat equipped Dodge station wagon...thanks for reminding me.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

And then, there was this. One of my favorites of all time:

Used to be, when I'd see a girl that I like,
I'd get out my book and write down her name.
But when the grass got a little greener on the other side,
I'd just tear out that page.

But then I fooled around and fell in love...

Just friggin' excellent. Elvin Bishop is a favorite too. Cornelius Bros sure sound like a Phil Specter production. Don't know if he produced it, but there was a "wall of sound" in the song.

Thanks for the memories.
