I think we were told that would work with m9 mags in the P228 also. Probably a lot of mags you can hold in and do that with. Kind of a crapshoot though.

I believe the only difference between the m9 and P226 mags is where the mag catch engages. One could probably cut notches so the magazine would work in either.

ETA: I missed that you had said P228. The P228 mag is the same as the top portion of a P226 mag. In fact, for us poor buggers behind enemy lines, the only difference between a 10 round Mec-Gar P228 mag and a ten round P226 mag is the height of the plastic block on the bottom. The tube, spring, and follower are identical. The P229-1 magazine or P229 .40 S&W / .357 Sig magazine is fatter, but the P228 and early P229 magazines are just a shorter P226 magazine.

Man, imagine a standardized magazine kinda like AR mags.

Single stack 9mm, 45, 10mm, 40

Double stack 9mm, 45, 10mm, 40

Extended blah blah blah...

Wouldn't that make us mag whore's job a lot easier.

And you get one GD choice of grip angle and you'll like it!!!

No longer have my 226, but my uncle and I put them through his M9 once for fun. The mag' didn't lock totally due to different mag release locations but feed just fine and locked well enough.

When I read the title I knew it was Garand Thumb and Milspec Mojo lol.

Both are extremely knowledgeable about their trade.
