The only time I turned around on someone 9 over was if they were in a school zone. Or if I was hunting for drunk drivers, blue lights, ask for license, talk a few and determine if he’s drunk then cut em loose with a warning .

In NC 15 over makes it a misdemeanor and we could write that all day while riding the boulevard around town.

I’d be interested in the Taser policy for that dept. bet the guy was outside of it. You can’t just Willy nilly go lighting people up.

I googled this article and John Sigg. Every article I read has clearly stated …Driving 38 mph in a 35 mph zone. 3 mph over the speed limit.

In my over fifty years of driving in the U.S. and Canada, the vast majority of that in Michigan, I've never been pulled over, much less ticketed, for five over.

I generally limit myself to that outside of Michigan, but, I've never been stopped for ten over on Michigan highways with speed limits over 65 MPH.

Word has it, and this has been ever since I frequently drove through there in the early '70s, Ohio cops will cite you for five over. The truckers used to refer to Ohio as "the iron curtain state" back in the day.

In Michigan I believe 15 over is "careless driving" and 20 over is "reckless driving" and a mandatory court appearance.

If I'm feeling frisky--and lucky, somebody passes me on a multi-lane freeway when I'm already doing 10 over, traffic's relatively light, and the weather's clear I'll sometimes bump it to just shy of 15 over until I lose sight of them Big Grin
