Timdogg6Only four members of the Cubs team made it out on the field during the National Anthem.
Taled to my wife on this after posting last night. She follows the Cubs more closely than I do. Joe Maddon has a mantra of requiring that his players have a life outside of baseball. Therefore it is very common for him to not allow players to the stadium from sunrise to sunset so to speak. I don’t have any reason to believe that this has anything to do with American Legion week.
Maddon has a highly unorthodoxies style of managing which I’m sure all aware, in this instance I don’t think it’s on him that the guys weren’t out. He leaves players alone and expects them to have their shit straight. In this instance I don’t think the players were expecting an anthem to be played before the finish up of the old game.
Too many of their line up is hardcore Christian and republican to think they wouldn’t be out there for the anthem. That just doesn’t add up
