Wonder not. He has already stopped further wall construction and there are those in his Administration actually advocating removal of it. We are about to have a real crisis at the border.

FWIW, that was the pro-NAFTA argument.

Well the cartels make money from the US. If can fix our own problems, the cartels will weaken and Mexico will improve. IMO, good paying jobs for those that want to work will greatly reduce those buying drugs. Who wants to work hard for many years, then lose their house and family? Whether they are concerned about going to prison, or simply cannot hold down a job because they are an druggie or alcoholic.

So, bring jobs back by stop buying from China. We need Trump and less corruption in government. Most important issue is voter fraud. If we can fix that on a state by state basis, our nation can move forward.

I feel bad for the casualties and their families, have some mixed feelings.

We are a nation of immigrants and I believe we should welcome and assist those who want a better life for themselves and their families than their homeland/culture can provide, IF, they are willing to step up to the founding principles of this country that provide the better life they seek (unlike Democrats).

The problem is there are many who want a free ticket on the gravy-train, want to maintain the same culture that keeps them oppressed in their homeland, and demand their right to come here illegally and eat from other people's labors.

All of my grandparents came to the U.S. as legal immigrants as kids. The immigration process is far too difficult and costly, this needs to be made somewhat easier and encouraged (not too easy mind you)......and the illegal immigrants need to be sent home.

our immigration policy should only allow legal immigrants based on merit.

Is it though? Let's not rule out that this was a clown car before we start blaming illegal immigration.

We believe arming our fellow Americans – both physically and philosophically – helps them fulfill our Founding Fathers' intent with the Second Amendment: To serve as a check on state power.

Wait, my 'tongue-in-cheek' statement mentions nothing about 'illegal immigration' but even w/o the [/sarcasm] emogi, you went right there like a Laser, sooo I guess it's NOT a 'Real Puzzler' is it! Wink

Regardless, there is NO Explanation for removing ALL of the passenger seats in a Ford Expedition and cramming TWENTY-FIVE People inside other than Illegal Immigration!

I've repeatedly heard it's far more difficult to immigrate to many other countries, including Canada, than it is to get immigrate to the United States.

US immigration is tedious and lengthy but, I think its more to do with institutional bureaucracy and endless CYA forms, than any kind of detailed review process like seen in other countries. One thing I do know about US immigration, is it's good at screwing up an application.

Friend of mine married a gal, her application for citizenship took 3+ years, it required a lawyer, a handful of reviews and a small fortune all because the original application had been 'lost', then 'mis-placed' by a clerk, then put together incorrectly by another clerk. All errors and headaches are passed to the applicant, there's zero accountability for the office functionaries, clerks and application officers. It quite literally was, 'can't find it, too bad, so sad, try again.'

At the time I lived in Spain, Andorra had wide open borders, no barriers to tourism, shopping, etc. No customs / immigration people at the border crossings.

I sought out the government office to get my passport stamped. There was no requirement for this, I wanted it for a souvenir. They were reluctant to do this for me, although they did, once they understood that it was strictly a souvenir thing. Although they welcome visitors, shoppers, tourists, they have very stringent requirements for immigrating. The only two ways to become a citizen in this tax haven were either to be born there, or to marry an Andorran citizen.

This.

There needs to mutual benefit. Not just benefit to the immigrant.

I am a legal immigrant, went through the application process and waited my turn, had my interviews, filled out ALL my paperwork and came here lawfully

I have ZERO sympathy for anyone who jumps the border - in my mind they're nothing but low-life criminals and if they pay with their lives, I'm OK with that

I feel bad for the truck driver, and thats it
