Cuba could cut back on energy cost associated with short wave broadcast's to America, telling us what bad people we are. (Radio Havana, English and Spanish, 6000kHz) Use some of that energy cost to feed their people. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

So they eat their own when it comes down to it, or as Glenn Reynolds would say “from the annals of leftist autophagy” _________________________ “ What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”— Lord Melbourne

Shame there’s no system that could solve these supply problems.

How do you spell irony?? Being assured that supplies of cooking oil will remain stable, but chicken and eggs and items to cook in oil are in short supply. Well, you can still make salad dressings so there's that. _________________________ NRA Patron Life Member

Ironia. "...As any semifluent Spanish speaker visiting Cuba will attest, irony is the spice of life in Cuba...." quote I just found when reviewing ironic spelling. Jim

Their biggest issue is the lack of hard currency. Theirs isn't worth the paper it's printed on and they don't have access to others. This is all because they don't produce enough to take care of themselves let alone extra for export. Of course there are minor exceptions like cigars but in total they fall way short.

The Cuban government can buy these so called items from anywhere they want to.....ie. Mexico or any other country except from the U.S. Mexico has PLENTY of chicken, eggs and other staples it could sell them. BUT, you need money to pay for them. What surprises me, is they've seen a huge uptick in tourism and revenue. Several cruise ships a week are going there with American Tourists spending money there within the last 2 years or so.
