Go to Denny's. Buy one Grand Slam or All American Slam breakfast for $5.99, and get a second one for a buck.

I'm pretty sure it's not worth risking food poisoning. The Denny's around here are not very good...

Here you're likely to catch a stray at Denny's locations.

I didn't know it but Denny's has closed 150 stores in the last three years.

We had five at one time , now only one.

They built one close by, it closed pretty quick, I never darkened their door

There were several around the Monterey Bay area when I lived there in the early 90's. I loved the Thunderbird sandwich and the calamari steak.. Yumm

Did you know that Denny's in Japan is different and much better than Denny's here? Only the name is common. I'd go to Denny's in Japan. Here, I'm apprehensive....

There are a couple within fifteen minutes of my house, and several more in the greater Orlando area.

What? No love for Waffle House?

Denny's still bears the scars of the racist accusations in the '90's, I have known a number of people who still refuse to patronize them due to these.

I far prefer a "mom & pop" breakfast place to any chain, although these seem to be harder to find as time goes on.

A meal at chik fil a costs me about $12. It’s on the expensive side for what i get. That being said being said, i’m wary of any place that offers a meal cheaper than that.

Have not been in a Denny’s in decades and doubt the deal is enough to change that.

"Waffle House is just a Denny's that includes fights as entertainment"

Having said that, I really enjoy eating at Waffle House when I'm in that part of the country

I don't think I've been to a Denny's since my son was in High School and it was it was a pre-graduation filming tradition for the Animation crew. Yup, three straight days for three years...weren't part of the crew the year he graduated

For me that would be Waffle House. I have eaten at Denny’s and iHop a few times with no issues. The one and only time I ate at a Waffle House I got sicker than heck! I have never and will never eat at one again.

Great idea though V-Tail!

I hadn't been to a Denny's in years, typically dine out at Mom and Pop breakfast joints/diners, and on the rare occassion that I went to a chain breakfast joint it was iHop.

There are three Denny's within 15 minutes, my buddy was hungry for breakfast at lunch, and we went to the nearest one. It was clean and the food was good which is much different than I remember.

A few months later, I was getting something from Hazard Freight in the opposite direction and there was a Denny's catercorner from it. It was lunch time so I stopped in. Once again, clean and breakfast for lunch was good.

A few months later, I had to go to Deep Homo to pick-up something over lunch. There was a Denny's (different location from the other 2) about 1 minute away so I decided to try that one. Once again, it clean and breakfast for lunch was good.

I didn't let the past limit my present and I'm 3 for 3 in trying Denny's in my area. Perhaps some of y'all could benefit from leaving the past in the past and giving the present a chance.

Those are wise words and I shouldn’t write off Waffle House forever due to one bad experience. “A single storm doesn’t define the sky—return, and you may find it clear.”
