Last year at this time I was asked to cover a high school class for a teacher that was out sick. I had seniors, and one student stole earbuds from another senior. (Boy was the thief, girl owned them). After we discovered who stole them, the girl said she was going to punch the boy out. I explained to her that she shouldn't do that and if she did expect the boy to hit her back. Her response was "men aren't allowed to hit a woman". I tried to tell her that is she (for example) came up and hit me I would hit her back. She then said I was racist. I grew up believing men never hit a woman, but there are many reasons as we have seen in this video that can justify it. I have never hit a woman. Living the Dream | |||

Generally speaking I agree, a man should not hit a woman. More specifically, a man should never initiate aggressive physical contact with a woman, unless there are extenuating circumstance (she has a weapon and is threatening you or others, is physically attacking another or family member, etc.,). However being a gentleman and choosing not to be an abuser of women does not give a woman the right to physically attack that gentleman based on the belief that he 'shouldn't it a woman'. Situation dictates the response.
