We all have had many success stories through our lives. Tell us about a success story of yours. It could be anything from minor success to something huge. Pick whatever you want to share with the membership, and we'll all enjoy reading.

Prize: SIG Sauer P365, serial number 66B225005. I am original owner. Factory grip module replaced with Grayguns laser sculpted one. Due to a prematurely burned out rear sight tritium on the original slide, I put a replacement slide I have laying around on. All three tritium vials are working brightly now. Gun has had 323 rounds down the pipe. Gun will ship with two 10-rounders in original factory case, so members from mag capacity restricted states are GTG, also.

Winner to be announced toward the end of the month.

While not the best time of my life right now, I’ve been blessed with many successes/wins etc. in my life. I will, however go with 2 involving my daughter.

1-I had been teaching my daughter to drive for many years. Since she could sit on my lap and drive. When she took drivers ed her instructor said she was one of, if not the best new driver he’s ever had. My daughter told me and said it really is because of how good of a teacher I was. That was an amazing success in my books.

2-Another with my daughter. While she hasn’t shot a ton I have taught her both with powder burners and airguns and she is not bad at all. Well we go to the range to do a little shooting and I had two RO’s tell me how good of a job I had done with her both safety and shooting technique. That was a “win” for me but the icing on the cake was when she wanted to shoot a target to enter a drawing. 8.5x11 sheet with like 10 various sized targets…….she CLEANED IT! We handed it in and they were all like Damn she can shoot. Smile

So those are two simple successes. I also actually won an argument with her when she was like 4. My wife asked me if I was proud of winning an argument with a 4 year old and I was like “Your God damn right I am!” Last fight I ever won with her. Frown

Thanks for the opportunity as always.

my 12yo daughter got her first deer this year, a little 4 point. I wasn't sure that she would pull the trigger on a live animal, but she handled it like a trooper and dropped it in the field -SUCCESS!!!

and, she would have shot a doe on the last day of the season, but I didn't really want to clean it that day - next year I hope she gets a least a six point

I helped my stepson, an Army veteran, get off the streets homeless, off the bottle, off the pills and living a clean and successful life. It was a long road but my wife and I never gave up on him and it's paid off for everyone.

Five days hospitalized in cardiac intensive care as a result of a heart attack caused by blood clotting in a kidney stent put in earlier that day.

Got out, stopped my cardiac rehab early February due to the kidney stent causing pain and bleeding. Stone removal was delayed twice despite my cardiologist giving the ok, the anesthesia team didn’t feel comfortable putting me under until one year passes, twice they scheduled and stopped, once when I was in the surgical suite!

I finally said enough. Pain from the “garden hose” limited the amount of time I could ride in a car, walk how I could sit and lie in bed. And toward the beginning of February I had to stop the cardiac rehab as the pain and irritation from it caused bleeding.

Over the hospital assigned urologist (my own doc is in another hospital system!) protests I orders the stent pulled, I’ll deal with the stones as they come and I’m seeing my regular guy in two weeks. He’ll make the deduction how we move forward. But slowly I recovering from that, it’s been a long and miserable four months.

No need to put me in for the karma, the last thing I need is another firearm.

I came from a dysfunctional family, parents divorced when I was young and about every family issue you can think of happened on one side or the other of my family. I grew up poor and two separate times when I was a teen lived without electricity. One time it was during a Midwest winter.

I got good grades in school but did not care for college so I quit after 3 semesters of part time. I ended up going into the AF when I got tired of working 70 hours a week at 2 minimum wage jobs.

Through the providence of God, I got out of the AF and started working in chemical plants. I moved into a craft that is in great demand and my salary is about 3 times that of my daughter who has a Masters degree. I have been able to save enough so that I should retire at 59.5.

Considering my childhood and that I have no degree, I consider my life a success financially and relational. I have been married for over 35 years (to the same woman) and my daughter is married and successful. My life has not been easy, but I have no complaints.

I guess my sucess story is that I'm a player coach in my organization and have been here for 21 years as of Feb.

I didn't finish my degree. Fell to the side bartending and waiting tables. Got a shot as a junior recruiter. One thing I did luckily get was work ethic and Hustle from my father and grandfather. I've been the top producer in my origination for probably a decade.

My take aways: I can teach you how to do the job. But I can't teach you work ethic & Hustle.

I almost feel like I don't deserve the success sometimes as I didn't finish my degree. But I keep on pushing hard every day.

I went back to school at 35 years old to get a master's degree. My wife and I had 2 kids under 6 years old at the time while both working full time. I was not the greatest student during my undergraduate career. I did enough to pass and that was it. I was more interested in going back to my apartment and playing video games. I graduated near the bottom of my class with a 2.8 GPA. 4.0 being the highest

It took 6 years to do, as I only took 1 class per semester. I have no clue where I finished in the class but improved my GPA to 3.5 I put in so much more effort that makes me regret no doing so earlier. It has opened new opportunities for my career but I'm still working at the same place.

I'm an electrical engineer. My friends call me the redneck nerd since I like guns and drive a pickup truck.

Thanks for offering this very generous karma.

Thank you for the opportunity.

We finally got my 9yr old son over his fear of/aversion to reading. He would get so frustrated because it actually takes effort and he had to stumble through, as does everyone at first. We found out what piques his 9yr old brain- cryptozoology. Now he can't get enough of books about mothman, bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, etc. He very much enjoys a trip to the Barnes & Noble now. I made sure to tell him how excited and proud I was that he's enjoying reading. I even let him borrow some of my books on the subject; I had a similar interest when I was his age. Wink

In for a chance.

My wife and I are each other's second spouse. Without a lot of detail, my first wife was a narcissist (maybe because she was an only child), and it didn't work out between us. Neither did a few subsequent marriages for her. My wife's first husband died from lymphoma, and his family blamed her for causing it and treated her very badly. Even while we were dating, they harassed her.

Anyway, when we married, we both wanted children, and so, God blessed us with 2 sons. We tried to be good parents, we took them to church as children and teens, got involved in school activities, and we were very involved with them throughout their growing up. I had several people tell me that we were overbearing and "helicopter" parents. So be it, it was worth the "gamble" IMHO.

I make no apologies for what we did. Our oldest son is now a pharmacist, is married to a pharmacist, and they have 2 sons and are raising them in a similar fashion - church, sports, school, etc. Our younger son is an Army Captain and doing well. He is still single, but wants a family eventually.

We give credit to God for the blessings we have received with our children, They aren't perfect, and neither are we, but we'll continue to do the best we can now as grandparents.

Thanks for the wonderful karma opportunity.

Back in 2013 I was in a financial tough spot.

I had always work for myself and was getting tired. I was hitting 60.

I had never worked for anyone.

Called around to my friends in corporate and was told if I had a couple of hard to get certifications I would be employable.

Two months later I had the certs.
I was soon employed.
Another 11 years before I retired.

A great Karma! I am thoroughly enjoying reading the posts here. I've had successes and failures in my life, and have made many mistakes. However, there are two instances where I got things right. The first was marrying Mrs. chbibc 36 years ago and the second was raising our two children. I made mistakes with them on the journey to adulthood, but along with the missus provided steady parenting and support. Both are now in their late 20's. They are hard working, good and kind souls, strong in their beliefs and convictions, and never hesitant to do good in the world. Their quiet resolve at times brings me to tears. Yeah, I'm a little proud of them both. They are my greatest success.

Although generous beyond description, please do not enter me in the Karma. My sincere thanks for allowing me to post here. Smile

I was a senior in high school and my girlfriend was a Junior. She got pregnant. Her father kicked her out of the house, sent her to a home for unwed mothers. It was all arranged for a couple to adopt the baby, we would never see him. Last minute before signing the papers I told my parents and hers to fuck off, we are keeping him. Went to Newport Ky and got married by a Justice of the peace.
Even though we divorced after nine years I went to every football game, Wrestling match, camping , fishing, taught him how to shoot.
He's 48 years old, lives in a two million dollar home, I have two fine grandsons. I couldn't be more proud!
Best decision I've made in my life!

Please do not enter me in the drawing (even though it is cool!).

In 2006, the company I worked for 18 years closed its doors due to the death of the owner/president, I was laid off. Received a good severance, and rather than answer the calls from competing companies to go work with them, I went to our clients to see if they would work with my own company- they were delighted. Long story short, I made more money, got more freedom, in my first year in business than anytime in my life. And it continued to improve each consecutive year, finally retiring over three years ago. Our lives totally changed with this new lease on life, and perhaps the best thing that has happened to me. But second to me marrying my wonderful wife and raising our awesome son Wink

I retired in 2015. Dicked around for a year or so and did nothing of consequence and got bored. Decided I need a new vocation. Always loved mechanical watches and found a guy's videos that I really enjoyed. He also offered an online course in four or five parts that would teach you the basics of watch repair (His name in Mark Lovick in case you want to look him up). I signed up and learned the basics. Bought a bunch of books written by the old master repairers, Bulova, Fried, Daniels, etc. and read them multiple times. Started acquiring the tools and supplies and a few training movements. Discovered that the tools are outrageously expensive, but I was in too deep now. Anyway, I got good enough to restore a bunch of vintage watches and sell them on eBay, fix some for family and friends and generally enjoy what I was doing. I guess I sold maybe 200 - 250 restored watches. Kind of winding down now due to age and health, but will still go to the bench to tinker. That's my biggest accomplishment since retiring.

Thank you for your generosity. I'm not in for the karma but I do want to share I was a person in 2008 whose million dollar mortgage was collaterized by house which value decreased to $350,000; my 401k was cut in half, and I was facing with having to work until the day I died stuck in a job that was killing me literally with the amount of work and stress. I was in that frying pan for 8 years only to jump into the fire for 6 months at a worse job due to a malevolent boss.

The success is I was driven to just quit to save my sanity and that's when I pleasantly discovered my finances had recovered to where I didn't have to work anymore. It wasn't financial abundance but it was financially sufficient.

Thanks for including me in your Karma.

My success story would be my recent weight loss.

Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in Sept of 2024. Took this as a sign that I needed to shed weight and get my health on track. Started diet and exercise. I've managed to lose from 303 lbs down to hovering around 175 lbs. A1C went down from 9.6 to 5.2. All without having to use any of those modern weight loss drugs.

I had been doing well with exercise with daily walks, but these past two months worth of winter have put a hurt on that. I'm looking forward to getting back to my walks when the weather starts getting more Tatooine than Hoth.

Wow, another extremely generous karma!

While I have lived long enough to be blessed with many “success” stories and even one or two “Phoenix rising from the ashes” stories please not include me in this karma.

One of my successes is I have already acquired four P365’s so really don’t need another one Wink

I do enjoy reading the other folks posts about their successes.
