Have to give a plug to their $79 Portland pole saw. I got one about a year ago (little less) and figured it was work once and be done. No way, I have trimmed big trees, little trees, and palm trees, hard and soft wood and this little bugger has really worked well.

Now, I wouldnt try to cut down a redwood, but I've cut through 4" diameter hardwood limbs pretty easy. For the price, you cant beat it

I purchased Harbor Freight's Lynxx battery powdered pole saw a couple of years ago. That thing is GREAT for what I needed it for. Works like a champ, and NO CORD to deal with.....ah, the good life!!

I don't have the pole saw, but did pick up the bauer 10' Chainsaw, and have to say that thing performs pretty well. I have used he heck out of that for trimming branched and it has been a great little saw.

Well, I'll never buy another. I bought one maybe 10 or 12 years ago. My oldest son had a problem where he couldn't back his motorhome into his drive because of a large oak limb. So I bought one and took it out to his house. I've only seen it once since then. On the floor of his garage. So you could say its never run for me.

Of course it could be a problem with my offspring. I'd be more apt to cut the tree down at the base, providing me with firewood and warmth all winter.

That is the one! You wont see one on a Asplundh truck, but for small stuff it worked like a champ.

I bought one on sale for $59 about 3 years ago. I use it a few times a year, and each time I trim quite a bit with it. Still going strong. Color me impressed as well.

Does it cut vines or get tangled up?

That's about what I paid 3 or 4 years ago, corded.

It's been a very good buy, served me well. Keep the chain sharp and tensioned, it does what it's supposed to. It goes through chain oil quick, got to keep on top of that. It's got obvious limitations but don't underestimate the HF electric pole saw.

The pole telescopes out to about 9 feet. That, plus a ladder will enable you to reach a pretty good distance. Definitely not too heavy on the end to wield. Last year I used it to cut a bunch of vines up to about 2” thick that were encroaching on my property. It worked really well.

I have had mine for about 3 years, no complaints.
Chain is dull so I should shop for a new chain.
Battery one looks tempting.

It seems ok for small things.
My brother has a stihl pole saw and I have a Jameson 18'fiberglass pole pruner.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Mine leaks oil all down the handle, making it difficult to hang on to. It is relegated to the garage closet til it makes it to the dump.

We have a new Harbor Freight store nearby so I stopped in and got a pole saw for my wife since she has been wanting a new one - something lighter than what we have. For $79 if it lasts a year it will be worth it.

While I was there, I saw some 20 ft. telescoping flag poles with a 3' x 5' flag. It will also accommodate a 2nd flag. The demo model looked pretty solid with a 2" to 2.5" diameter base. So for $57 I thought I'd give it a shot. If it turns out to be reasonably solid I'll grab another one to mount a 2 m ham radio antenna onto and one end of a long wire HF antenna. This one looks and feels more sturdy than any fiberglass poles or other telescoping poles I've seen with a lot higher price.

I never should have gone in there though Smile

Got one maybe 3 yr ago and it been fine except for I can no longer loosen the sections to lower it. Perhaps I overtightned them, so be careful of that. Not a big deal though as it is so light I just lift the pole out of the ground sleeve and lay it down when needed. To fly at half mast I just take the flag from the top set of clips and hang it on the bottom set. The wind whips it pretty good sometimes with just one flag on it... I'd worry about it if 2 were mounted.
