Farmers gave us 20% off in April and 15% in May. Now back to full price.

I got a $15 refund from my car insurance company last month. Basically said they estimated people had been driving x% less and refunded y% of everyone’s premiums.

Well, we got 30 bucks back from Hartford a couple of weeks ago. That won't even buy an extended mag for my P365.

I'm also getting a credit from USAA. It's nice.

I was going to switch to USAA last November but their rates overall were higher. I guess it may have equaled out if I had gone with them.

I got $36 back... and two days later the regular bill came. $36 is probably a week and a half's worth of insurance.

The irony being with only working 2 and 3 days a week, I've been driving much much much more.

Same here. Our house and two Hondas are with them, have not seen a refund/credit yet.

I emailed my State Farm guy and asked what was up as I hadn’t seen anything either and he told me it was a 25% rebate for March-May that would be applied as a credit sometime in June.

I got a premium rebate from Geico of just over $250. I thought it was fair given that I didn't drive to work for six weeks.

I have gotten several letters from AAA with offers to sell me more insurance. As far as rebates are concerned; Crickets!

While I appreciate the 25% break, they are also pushing it back as far as possible.

By that I mean what you were told, and their press releases, would lead you to believe you'd see it on your June bill if paying monthly. Well, you'd be wrong based on the June notice I just got for standard amount.

I guess they define "apply" as have a credit meander into their system sometime during the month to be applied to amounts due in July.

I also bet their math won't match yours or mine. You'd think 25% of March-May would be 3 months total times .25. I bet it's some other funny math for period March 20th through May 4 or some similar bullshit. eta - looks like I was wrong, but on the right track. From their site:

quote:
Customers can expect to receive a dividend on average of 25 percent of premiums owed during the period March 20 and May 31

Still better than the OP. $5?? Damn!

Looks like they are reducing rates going forward as well. Before y'all start thinking this is all because they love us so much, remember they and many others are a mutual insurance company. This means they are going to have to give back or reduce premiums anyway, they're just trying to do so in a way that gets them some good press as well. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not altruism at work here.

Amica announced 20% off for April and May for auto, but didn't see crap on my motorcycle. I've actually received the discount for both months. Combined, it's enough to buy a tank of gas for my truck.

My agent replied back and said he thought that was a refund for my atv premiums and he thinks I’m getting more for my auto policy (even though that is not what the letter stated). Maybe I’ll get enough to buy two candy bars.....
