Sitting at the airport in Detroit and notice the 5G UW on my phone, so I ran a speedtest. Holy smokes! 4x faster than my cable ISP at home and 10x faster than any cellular internet I’ve ever seen. ![]()

I did not know anyone lived in Detroit anymore. Perhaps that is the reason.

My family immigrated here in the 1880s from Prussia. I was the last of my family to be born here. My maternal grandmother stuck it out until the early 90s before she left and everyone else had left at least 15 years before her. The only relatives I have left here are in Woodmere Cemetary. My dad bought his Colt Python from J.L. Hudson’s on Woodward Ave. Coincidentally, Detroit went downhill after that.

curious, were you on a VPN? Sometimes VPN's compress data and the effective speed appears higher. Not by much, but higher. .

Yep, under the right conditions, 5G is incredibly fast. Now if they can only get the reliability piece of it squared away. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. No VPN. Is there a benefit to using one with a cellular network?

If you are with Verizon, parts of Florida have what they call 5G UW, Ultra Wideband, and it is VERY fast. _____________

okay. that is pretty fast. I'm paying for gigabit speed and not getting anywhere near that even wired. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
