Looks like the Democrats are championing private firearm ownership and concealed carry. Anyone have that on their bingo card ? The lesson is poor judgement can get you killed

I used Kash Patel's words to be illustrative of what I meant.
Hyberbolic ad hominems aside, he was none of those things. Yes, I understand the context of the situation with people protesting and rioting, and Minneapolis losing its collective shit right now. However, I haven't seen what this individual did to warrant the outcome that occurred. I stated previously that I was certainly open to having my mind changed, and that still remains true.
Probably true for a number of things, but I'd bet we have a fair amount in common other than this particular disagreement. ___________________________________________ "Why is it every time I need to get somewhere, we get waylaid by jackassery?" -Dr. Thaddeus Venture

I come across this all the time on social media. People claim the 2A means you can carry a gun to perpetrate any kind of mayhem. Actually, they usually use that argument against the 2A, saying that restrictions are completely ok since otherwise murder and bank robbery would be legal. Thus banning guns or prohibiting ccw is ok. They like to mock 2A supporters when an armed criminal is killed by law enforcement. "See", they say, "You don't actually have a 2A right to bear arms because the police will kill you". Only more recently has the argument become that being armed while impeding ICE is protected by the 2A. Idk where these braniacs get their talking points from, but they are truly morons.

Back on page 74 some posts were made about the ‘reputation’ of the P320 possibly coming to light with this incident, and here it is - “Alex Pretti’s Sig handgun has history of accidentally firing — offering possible clue to why Border agent shot him” https://nypost.com/2026/01/25/...lly-experts-suggest/ First paragraph. . . Armed Minneapolis anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti was carrying a popular handgun that has a history of unintentionally firing — leading some gun experts to suggest that the gun might have accidentally discharged after a Border Patrol agent grabbed it from him, causing another agent to open fire, killing him Saturday. __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."

I wouldn’t expect people that write things for the media (I cannot call them journalists) would know the difference between "a history of unintentionally firing” and a history of allegedly unintentionally firing.

Many if not most of us do legally carry guns, sometimes an extra gun, often with at least one spare magazine, knives, flashlights, etc. We do NOT go anywhere with them with the express intent of looking for, let alone stirring up trouble. We go out of our way to avoid trouble. That's the difference between us and whatshisface. "The Almighty, He put some livin' things on this earth so a man can eat." - Festus Haggen, Gunsmoke

Arguing with cops is never going to help you. Putting your hands on them isn’t going to change that for the better. If after being pepper sprayed in the face you didn’t get that message, then fighting four or more cops trying to detain you isn’t really, really not going to change your situation for the better. It does not matter if Pretti did anything illegal, he lost his opportunity to argue that in court. By “he lost” I do mean him, his actions, he owns it, he caused it, his responsibility. All the videos show this.

With the express intent of fully interfering with federal law enforcement, with the complete, full intent of obstructing a law enforcement operation. And this is what absolute morons cannot understand, or choose to ignore. Or flat out lying because they understand these domestic terrorists are breaking multiple laws, doing harm and back them all the way. In case anyone here isn't following DataRepublican, here's @camhigby's post where he revealed the massive organization structure hidden on discourse and using Signal to organize strikes against ICE in MN. This is a well run, highly organized effort, someone is putting serious money into the backroom operations to discover, out, and direct these attacks on ICE agents in the field. To include plate readers to catch vehicle plates, assign them to ICE and monitor their position and direction. https://x.com/camhigby/status/2015093523733733474

I noticed something in the video that led me down a little rabbit hole. There's so many Learing Centers in Minneapolis, you can't even walk down the street fighting ICE agents without getting shot in front of one. The building Pretti was shot in front of was until recently Smart Therapy Center, LLC. https://www.justice.gov/usao-m...utism-fraud-scheme-0
And it didn't stay vacant for long! The sign over the door now says it's the New American Development Center:

Absolutely true. Now, I'm going to ask an uncomfortable question, and I really do not intend to be critical, but... Where are the throngs of people that support ICE? Sure, there are some occasional counter-protestors, but if we are, in fact, in the majority, why haven't "we" shown up en masse? So far, "we" sit back and lament that "they" aren't doing enough. If a 1000 counter-protestors regularly showed up to these things where the insurrectionists number in dozens to hundred, they would die out pretty quickly, or at least change the perception as to where the sentiment of the country really is with respect to ICE enforcement actions. As long as "we" stick to being Internet Rangers, "they" are winning. Please understand, I am not trying to point a finger at you, personally. I am fortunate to live where we don't have these issues (yet), and I have not had to answer the question of how physically involved I personally would get. But, the question is still a valid one. Hey Comer, what innocent life has been lost so far? None that I can recall. Hey Kasich, you suck as a Trump hater, crawl back into a frozen hole somewhere. You aren't a part of our future, so just go away. This space intentionally left blank.

And clever people have found out that one of the administrators of this Signal chat group is Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan. Also involved with the group is Anita Smithson, candidate for State Senate. https://x.com/jimmy_rustlin/st...484189961798107?s=46 "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

This has always been the problem with the "silent majority," which is now becoming the silent minority because of it. We do the right things, mind our business, focus on work, family, etc. and think/hope we can vote our way out of trouble until it becomes apparent that voting isn't enough.

Good question. I think there are several answers. A bit sarcastic yet true reason is that nobody is paying us or paying for our expenses. The anti-ICE protesters are not just local residents. Many are being paid directly, and those not local are being supported in their expenses. Things are being provided, such as signs and pallets of bricks. I would not be surprised if smaller items like whistles and bullhorns are being provided. A second reason is we on the right don't relish unpleasant confrontations, and it seems certain that a peaceful counter-protest would face hateful if not violent confrontation. A third reason is those of us in other parts of the country see it as a MN problem. I was quite surprised to see that Salt Lake City had a fairly large anti-ice rally downtown this past weekend. Until I saw that, I really didn't think that there was much activism in this state. A fourth reason is, for me anyways, most protests seem useless unless they are impressively large. A couple dozen people with signs on a street corner aren't going to change any minds or make any impressions. You're right about needing to be seen, because there is such a strong "join the bandwagon" effect which has emboldened the left. The media is the biggest enemy to freedom and the USA. That's where we need to have more influence.
