Sounds like a couple hundred of the loonies have gone to the Capitol building looking for Timmy. Doing their chanting and disrupting in his direction. Guess they aren't happy that he is talking nice to Trump on the phone. Trump describing Walz on the phone as, "he could not have been nicer I couldn't believe it was the same man who said all those things before". By describing the phone call in that light Trump put a couple hundred protesters down at the capitol building looking for Timmy instead of chasing ICE. Brilliant. I wonder if Walz can put his dogs back on the leash now or if it's beyond that. Frey has met with Homan and has said since the meeting Minneapolis has no intention of following federal immigration law. Somethings amiss here. Excellent. No use of Insurrection Act, no need for military action. Just Trump putting Walz in a vice and getting him to do what he should have done all along. Didn't feed the insurrectionist's desire for escalation, removed their success in controlling the actions of the state of MN, and makes the Trump administration as strong and in control - just the way it should be. Here's my take on the time line and events as they un-folded: - insurrectionists choose MN as a place to make a stand against the federal government by opposing immigration enforcement. - MN is the choice because there is a lot of sympathetic people, but mainly the mayor of Minneapolis, governor of the state, and the state AG are all in line in supporting them. - the insurrectionists are hoping to effectively take control of MN. A key step in an insurrection is gaining control of territory. Think "Seattle CHOP zone" on the state level. - initial support from the MN administration in preventing state and local LE from assisting the feds in any way - insurrectionists get Walz to mobilize the MN National Guard. The insurrections think they have succeeded in getting Walz to openly defy and confront the feds. It would be a huge win for them, if successful. To date, NG just hands out water to rioters. - feds don't back down and show they can still enforce the law - insurrectionists raise the bar on the violence, but end up dying in the process. Most of the country doesn't really care. - Trump has a phone call with Walz, Walz folds - MN state troopers are now helping ICE and confronting insurrectionists. Haven't heard about MN NG, but if they haven't stood down yet, they will soon. - Trump treated the insurrectionists as piss-ant criminals and dealt with them with LE, rather than dignifying them as powerful and significant enough to be considered a national security threat requiring a military response via the Insurrection Act. Huge win for Trump, huge loss for the insurrectionists. - Big interesting question to me is: who is "camhigby" and the ones hacking Signal and coming after the insurrectionists digitally? Looks very successful and well-organized. It will be interesting to see what happens next. This space intentionally left blank. | |||

Good assessment. But as Para noted above we are going to have to deal with these commie bastards in a permanent way sooner or later. To me this is the time. We have Trump for three more years after that it's anybody's guess and if we don't pull the mid terms out he is going to be facing more severe headwinds. The infrastructure these commies are creating is only going to get stronger and better. Sure Trump may have out foxed them for now but they will continue to come back until we tear the entire thing down. Their communications will be more stealth and they will be stronger in numbers and more violent next time. They may wait for a Democrat to be in the White House and create something to trigger another riot situation. They will have free reign. Yes I know the FBI is investigating this Signal Chat structure and who is involved. Pardon me if I don't have much faith in investigations actually producing anything. Nobody wants the insurrection act invoked because it looks icky to mom and pop sitting at home. But it's going to get icky either way. If we kick the can down the road we do it at our own peril. MN has always had a very bold Red streak of Far Leftist behavior, principally stemming from the 'collectivist-farmer ideal' with the formation of the Farmer-Labor party in the early 20th century then later merged into the Democrat party. Notable figures like Humphrey, Mondale, Freestone, and Wellstone are born out of this, all being sympathetic to agriculture but easily swayed via extremist theories out Russia & China. | |||
