How in the hell was he cleared for hire by his background investigator?

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today announced the arrest of Radule Bojovic, an illegal alien from Montenegro, who was working as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department in sanctuary state Illinois. Radule Bojovic was encountered during a targeted enforcement action as part of Operation Midway Blitz.
I have a HUGE problem with this. As in massive!
So not only a Non US Citizen has the ability to arrest people (as in US Citizens!!!!), he’s an illegal?
He would have been the first fucker I would have chucked across the border!
And his department has a big legal problem, having given a firearm and firearms training to an foreign national ineligible to receive either.
ITAR any one?

I believe the IL State Police would have needed to approve his FOID as he'd need one to buy a firearm in IL.

jljonesNot if the gun was issued.
But, the point about the ITAR violation stands. They violated ITAR by training him.

I believe he'd still need a FOID to possess in a LEO role. Maybe one of our resident IL LEO's can confirm?

1 Robert 90In Illinois a police officer is not required to maintain a FOID as long as they have no personal weapons or ammunition (as in everything is dept. issue). Those who have attended certain programs and training (ex. Police Cadet program) may also possess an issued weapon and ammunition under the age of 21.
Hope this helps.

armoredHow will this effect all the arrests he made for the time he was active LE?

No they don’t.

If the gun was 'issued' how would that not be an Illegal Transfer to a Prohibited Person?

I know for a fact that Chicago PD and multiple suburbs require a valid FOID card for their LE.
If mine expired or gets revoked, I can’t work.

Exactly!
He technically “possesses” the weapon once it’s issued to him. Even if he only carries it at work.
However, for me, his possession of a firearm and the department issuing one (if that was the case) isn’t a LARGE deal for me.
Granted, it’s a deal.
But the HUGE ISSUE I have is the fact that a fuckin ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT had the ability to arrest a US Citizen, here in America.
That pisses me the fuck off.
He’s not a cook in the kitchen, cutting lawns, painting, or some other shit.
He had the ability to arrest US Citizen!
Think about that shit for a second!

I have a 10 man team. Most of my guys are Mexican descent.
2 of which BECAME US CITIZENS before they came on the job.
Went through the process, took the test, and had tears in their eyes when they raised their right hand and swore that oath.
They can’t stand this shit!
“Hey, Sargento, don’t worry! Fuck them! They deserve to get deported! We went through the process, they could too!”
I didn’t even realize that one could become a Cop without being a citizen! Now there’s this fuck-twit that isn’t even here legally.
Yeah, that’s a big ole FUCK NO from me!

I read an article two or three weeks ago that mentioned (iirc) Maine, Illinois, and New Mexico allowed this.

1 Robert 90CPD SIG is correct in that most agencies require officers to have a valid FOID, as well as a valid driver's license, etc. (mine included as we do annual checks to verify validity) that is a dept. regulation and not a state statute.
This is the section of the FOID act which applies:
(c) The provisions of this Section regarding the acquisition and possession of firearms, firearm ammunition, stun guns, and tasers do not apply to law enforcement officials of this or any other jurisdiction, while engaged in the operation of their official duties.

6guns https://www.theepochtimes.com/...vivpgUN4HllCUzDy4%3DFederal Appeals Court Allows Trump’s National Guard Deployment in Oregon
On Oct. 8, the appeals court restored the president’s control over the troops but said he couldn’t deploy them for the time being.
A federal appeals court ruled on Oct. 20 that President Donald Trump may deploy National Guard troops to deal with violence directed against federal immigration facilities in Portland while the case works its way through the lower courts.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit voted 2-to-1 to stay an Oct. 4 order of U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut of Oregon, who blocked a move by Trump to deploy members of the Oregon National Guard to Portland.
The panel, consisting of Circuit Judges Ryan Nelson, Bridget Bade, and Susan Graber, heard oral arguments in the case in San Francisco on Oct. 9.
“Defendants are likely to succeed on the merits of their appeal, and ... other stay factors weigh in their favor. We grant Defendants’ motion for a stay pending appeal,” the panel said in its new order.
Responding to a lawsuit filed by Oregon, Immergut had issued a temporary restraining order directing the Trump administration not to deploy federalized National Guard troops to Oregon. A president may take over, or federalize, state National Guard troops on an emergency basis in certain circumstances. The order was set to expire on Oct. 18.
In her order, Immergut noted that Trump said in a Truth Social post on Sept. 27 that he was sending troops “to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.”
The judge held Trump was not legally entitled to federalize the Oregon National Guard and that the situation in Portland was not as dire as the federal government claimed.
On Oct. 8, the same Ninth Circuit panel restored Trump’s control over Oregon National Guard troops but said he may not deploy them for the time being. The panel granted what lawyers call an administrative stay of Immergut’s order, which gives the circuit court judges more time to consider the federal government’s emergency appeal.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

wcb6092"You're Not The Only One With Guns": Anti-ICE Organizer Issues Viral Threat After US Marshal Wounded In Ramming Incident
https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...r-us-marshal-woundedLos Angeles schoolteacher and prominent anti-ICE activist Ron Gochez has suggested that if the Trump administration continues to round up illegal aliens, they may wind up on the receiving end of a bullet.
His comments followed a shooting incident earlier Tuesday during an ICE enforcement operation, where a U.S. marshal was wounded in the hand by a ricochet bullet and the suspect, Carlitos Ricardo Parias (a TikTok influencer also known as "Richard L.A."), was shot in the elbow after allegedly ramming federal vehicles.

CPD SIG^^^ I got a funny feeling that lil Ronnie may be receiving a pair of matching bracelets from DHS pretty soon.
DHS/ICE is pretty much keeping the “FA/FO” mantra alive and well.
