Agreed. I hope (and expect) that there are things in the works to stop the funding and the malevolent organizers. Probably a lot of foreign actors in all of this. Cut of the heads and the beast dies.

[Admitting my own tactical ignorance:] Why don’t we use water cannons? Push away the instigators, and clean the street a little, too.
Heck, in the wintertime, that would help sort out the truly committed-to-the-cause people from the plain ol’ crowd-joiners. ...
A federal judge on Friday ordered U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to release Mahmoud Khalil, whom authorities arrested months ago as part of the Trump administration's crackdown on antisemitism.
Khalil has been in custody since March 8, after helping to organize an anti-Israel protest at Columbia University in 2024. He is a green-card holder and lawful resident, though authorities have sought to deport him.
U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz ordered Khalil's release on Friday, asserting there was evidence to justify Khalil's assertion that "there is an effort to use the immigration charge here to punish the petitioner," The Hill reported.
Farbiarz previously rejected the administration's argument that he was undermining U.S. foreign policy.

Earlier today I was talking with opposing counsel on a case and in the conversation, we talked about the LA protests/riots/vandalism.
His wife is Japanese, and he told me that her relatives were in the relocation camps in WWII. The reason he mentioned it is because the Japanese American Museum is right where all the activities were at and the little shits graffitied and vandalized it.
He was pissed and said that Japanese were treated far, far worse by the government than any of the Mexicans would ever be and he can't understand their ignorance or lack of understanding history. He thinks the Mexican protesters are about as stupid as they can be.
He's 100% Mexican and says his people aren't helping their cause one bit.

Jmho, but with these riots there is a fine line to be navigated due to all the traitorous press and lefty politicians. It is a complicated calculation for whoever is making top level decisions. On an individual basis, yes respond with immediate overwhelming force to render the aggressors unable to continue. I favor law enforcement taking a stronger rather than weaker position, but where exactly to draw the line?
I'm happy not to be in the hot seat to set policy.

An interview with the guy who body slammed a street scumbag, covered back over a week ago in this thread. And yes, it was a handgun that flew out from his waistband as he was tackled.

I believe it is because of the stigma of how fire hoses were used during the civil rights era.
I could be wrong though.

I can see that, I suppose.

I respect where you're coming from, but letting them have their way is tantamount to giving in to them. Surrendering to them. I favor Broken Windows policy and wood chippers rather than living under threat of their wild tantrums.
Where are they going to stop?
We know they want Trump out of the way. They want us to believe that it's OK for the unknown holder of the Autopen to run the country. BJ the Prickster thinks he can be President, and as an unwilling resident of IL I can attest to how bad that will be.
I understand the fine line you see that has to be navigated, but from here behind enemy lines, it's a red line that's been crossed.
Sorry about the Saturday Morning Rant!

No Kings 2.0 Protests Set for July 4 Because the First One Was a Bust
After the first “No Kings” protests fell flat and failed to gain traction, organizers are doubling down with plans for a second demonstration.
The protests are scheduled for July 4th, as anti-ICE activists once again aim to disrupt America’s Independence Day celebrations and advance their agenda. According to a Facebook post, the second No Kings protest promises to deliver “No Kings” and “reclaim” freedom for the nation. The first demonstrations occurred earlier this month during President Donald Trump’s 250th celebration of the U.S. Army. Still, the far-left organizers failed to seize control or remove the president from office, so now they’re making another attempt.

Remember those flailing chain contraptions they made for detonating mines in WWII?
Those would probably work pretty well for insurrectionists.
