There are now protests across the country, I'm going to say there is no going back at this point, only forward through it, buckle up. I hope you've taken Paras advice and cleaned your guns.

StorminNorminI rarely watch the news, even local news but did tonight. Apparently there were these protests in liberal Austin, TX last night….gee surprise. People with signs saying this is a dictatorship and people saying any police against protesters are against people, yet the protesters defaced federal buildings with graffiti, threw rocks and spit on police. Sadly with a super liberal community activist elected as district attorney two terms now, absolutely nothing will happen to the turds. If anything, he will find a way to prosecute police. I love Texas, but I hate what Austin politics has become.
People come here for a better life, sometimes illegally which they shouldn’t. Do it the legal way. However, all the raids and arrests I know of are for illegal aliens who have committed crimes, have warrants, and are still in this country thanks to the prior administration. Yes, during those raids other people who are here illegally with good intentions may get entangled in the raid. All those protesters will protest until a family member is murdered by an MS-13 gang member or others here illegally. The most stupid stuff I have seen, well not really, but stupid.

Yes, it really pisses me off to be a Texan and see how much Texas has changed in major metropolitan areas to become so liberal. I am not shocked when I see all the stupid Nextdoor posts by people from California who kill things like a gardener snake saying they found a rattle snake in their yard and had to protect their children. Then you get shit on when you try to educate them. These people are seriously wired differently in their head.

Mars_AttacksThey are going to fuck around and find out from the GSP up here in Buford Highway if they decide to block roads.
Governor Kemp won't play around.
The Vietnamese residents and business owners won't either. They have experience with repelling invaders.

CPD SIG,
Basically the same things that a friend said. He retired from one department at full pension, took a part time job at another which morphed into full time.
After 2020 he started reconsidering things. He cited the same concerns that you have and said “I could do everything right and still lose everything I’ve worked for over the years.” As a result, in 2022 he left law enforcement and is now in private sector security.

wcb6092A little late to the party. I thought Bass and Newscum were still saying these are peaceful protests.
LA Mayor Declares Local Emergency, Issues A Curfew For Downtown Los Angeles
https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...downtown-los-angelesIn a bizarre twist, after spending much of the past week pleading just how peaceful the LA riots hugfest has been, and slamming Trump for deploying the national guard to the city after the local police was ordered to stand down, moments ago LA mayor Karen Bass announced that a curfew will be put into effect for one square mile of downtown Los Angeles following four nights of violent, chaotic protests and looting, during which the LAPD arrested more than 150 people.
LA MAYOR: "I have declared a local emergency & issued a curfew for downtown Los Angeles."
"Last night, there were 23 businesses that were looted."
"Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew." pic.twitter.com/N9V3DsB5GQ

The curfew will extend from 8 pm to 6 am and will extend for several days.

The Koreans showed us how to handle the insurrection problem during the LA riots. Pretty sure the Asians know how to "grab the bull by the horns".

Because they are a combination of mentally ill and domestic terrorists, themselves.
Someday, more people will wake up and realize that we should have removed this enemy threat a long time before even today. It will be too late by then.
I'm guilty too. Like CPD_SIG, I don't want to risk my family and security for these MF'ers.
Instead, I'm selling out my children's future, avoiding the conflict now. Holding out on the hope that others will solve this problem...or that soon we'll be given, "permission" to solve it ourselves. I think we all know that isn't coming. Slow burn sucks.

chellim1Always Ready, Always There: Democrats Mobilize Against the National Guard Deployment
Gov. Gavin Newsom was in his element this week. After scenes of burning cars and attacks on ICE personnel, Newsom declared that this was all “an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act.” No, he was not speaking of the attacks on law enforcement or property. He was referring to President Donald Trump’s call to deploy the National Guard to protect federal officers.
Newsom is planning to challenge the deployment as cities like Glendale are cancelling contracts to house detainees and reaffirming that local police will not assist the federal government.
Trump has the authority under Section 12406 of Title 10 of the U.S. Code to deploy the National Guard if the president is “unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States.”
The Administration is saying that that is precisely what is unfolding in California, where mobs attack vehicles and trap federal personnel.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I get it. The good news is that Trump has the balls to take this head-on, and it really does appear that he's owning the decision to go in there, and has the backs of the guys he's sending in 100%. That's almost a foreign concept to a lot of local LEOs these days.
I just spent the day on Monday with a buddy who has almost 20 years with the USBP. He said morale is awesome down there right now. They're allowed to do their jobs again and the guys are loving it. The border is closed, and it only took weeks to do it, with the resources that we already had. There are plenty of officers out there who have what it takes to get this job done...they just need leadership that they can trust to have their backs and support them in doing that job. We've got that again on the federal level, and it's starting to trickle down, at least in the more conservative places.
There's a lot of weak conservative leadership at the lower levels that wasn't necessarily woke but was too scared to make waves when the libs were in charge and they could see what was happening with the DOJ and the courts. But every win Trump gets with his agenda emboldens them a little more. You can even see it in the private and education sector as companies and universities ditch their absurd DEI initiatives.
Trump was re-elected on a popular mandate to do exactly what he's doing, and he's following through. He's not afraid to take on congress, or the liberal courts. People are seeing that and it's making a difference. I have way more optimism that we have a chance of beating this now than I did in 2020.
