its pretty bizarre ,

you can tell one hoarder that they will spend $1,600.00 for a storage unit for their $540.00 worth of b.s.

and their answer will be to go by a pre built shed for the back yard for $1,600.00, for the same $540.00 worth of b,s,

so, now they want you to understand that "at least they own the shed" , now Roll Eyes

and when you roll

My aunt was a hoarder, there were "aisles" through the stacks of stuff in every room of her house. When she passed her three kids had a large dumpster put in front of the house. I think they filled it three times.

My mom and step dad were like that. When she died we flew out to Idaho to help settle the estate, clean out the house so it could be sold, etc.

My brother and I hauled shit to the dump for 3 days, using his truck and 4 wheel trailer.

Then we had a yard sale and sold a bunch of stuff, including a pile of river rocks that my mom had collected on their trips up the Clearwater. I sold that pile of rocks to some woman for $20.

Finally got to cleaning out the basement. Among other goodies, we found a shoebox hidden in the rafters. That shoe box was full of bank envelopes, which were full of cash. Years of them. Totaled out to $78,000. They cashed their retirement checks each month, put the money in that box. Did I say they didn't trust banks?

While not hoarders, my parents are now seniors and have a propensity to ...hold onto things. Amongst the ridiculous was every cardboard box from Amazon and Costco was found in the backyard shed, every single toolbox we'd ever given him and their replacements, every single cooler ever owned. It filled the back of my truck. I declared that year, every holiday we'd have a garage sale. The proceeds would go towards a European vacation which I paid for their airfare with my miles. It was a small price to pay in order to get some order and organization.

My wife worked with a girl who's mother was a hoarder . After she filled the house , she started on the porches and even the yard. The neighbors complained to the authorities and finally she was dragged into court and ordered to clean the property . That was a waste of time . One day when she went to a Doctor's appointment the house caught fire . It was a long time before somebody reported it . Total loss . Her insurance paid off and she bought a new mobile home . The process started over . I've lost track of the situation but I'm sure it's no better .
