I was watching an early episode of Midsomer Murders and there was a modern auto that looked very much like the older MG TC/TD cars. The radiator cowling was more rounded and streamlined but had the long hood etc. from there back. The dashboard was also updated with modern rocker switches and gauges. I did some Google searching but could not come up with a clue as to what it was. I hope this group may have an idea.

Agree, a Morgan most likely. I have driven one. They have a wood frame, I believe that is to reduce road vibration.

Looked at pictures, definitely a Morgan.

Thanks it was driving me crazy like a song that gets stuck in your head. May have been a restomod as it was of the older body style near the back end but didn't have headrests and the dash was not like any I saw in pictures.

I remember the Morgan from early episodes of NCIS in which "Ducky" drove one. In one episode he exchanged himself for a guy who was being held hostage and told him to escape in his (Ducky's) car. The guy couldn't drive it, first getting in the wrong side (it was right-hand drive) and then was unable to manage the stick shift. "Use the clutch! USE THE CLUTCH!!"

It was a 1995 Morgan Plus 4. Really a great looking car.

The current iteration - The Morgan +8 - is quite the car. Powered by a 5L BMW V8 with over 360 HP it is the ultimate British sports car idiom.

when I got out of the service in 1967 I wanted to buy a fun car. I remember reading the NY Times classifieds on Sunday looking for something interesting. I saw a Morgan for sale and my Dad and I went to look at it. I was in love but got turned off by the English electrical issues. My Dad had a pretty bulletproof MGB at the time but the Morgan was another animal.

I ended up with an amazing '62 Corvette, drove it for a couple of years.

The SCI channel (284 on DirecTv) periodically does a "How It's Made" episode on the Morgan Aero Car. It's from 2013, Season 1, Episode 1.

The chassis is either steel or aluminum, but the body has a supporting framework made of Ash wood. The combination of steel and wood is unique on a modern car.
