downtownv"There are no civilians in Gaza. Haven't you all figured that out yet? You think they don't know when Hamas gunmen are among them? They know them all. They grew up with them. They aren't unwitting human shields. They're volunteers. "

wrightdI think they support Hamas 100% by principle no matter what, unified in their hatred for Israel, the west, and who knows who else. They are born into it, rewarded for it, which makes it harder for some westerners to understand or believe it. My guess or by observation is this level of hatred isn't practically curable.

Sigmund Inside Israel’s Commando Raid On Iran’s Underground Missile Factory In SyriaNew details and footage are coming to light from one of Israel's most high-risk and complex commando operations ever.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has released details — and imagery — of a dramatic commando raid into Syria, which targeted an underground missile production facility, back in September. The raid, codenamed Operation Many Ways, was deemed an outstanding success, with the facility destroyed and none of the 120 Israeli special forces troops involved being injured. Until now, however, very few details of how the raid took place had emerged.
The raid was carried out on Sept. 8 by members of the Israeli Air Force (IAF), specifically its elite Shaldag unit and Unit 669. Shaldag is a clandestine outfit that specializes in long-range penetration operations, including commando-style raids. Unit 669 is tasked primarily with combat search and rescue (CSAR), a key requirement of missions carried out in or close to hostile territory...

I can only imagine the intel windfall that was recovered there.
Even though the Israeli's struck a number of Syrian military and government sites, the flip-side is the loss of intel that was available. I get it, sometimes you just have to eliminate that spot when the opportunity presents itself but, who knows how much could've been harvested and reveled.

There’s video of IDF troops rifling through paperwork at the facility- I’m sure they didn’t leave completely empty handed.

wrightdI read about the Houhti situation in Yeman, it turns out Israel is having a harder time suppressing those bastards compared to their more local fights with Hamas and Hezbollah. With the distance of about 1,200 miles, limited intelligence, and difficulty of mounting operations at a distance, combined with lack of help from local partners and allies in coordinated operations against the Houthis, knocking those enemies back will be more difficult. From what I understand after our new POTUS gets things set up at home, at that time the US and possibly other Western allies will join forces to start working on the Houthi problem.
I didn't realize this problem of distance, comparatively limited intelligence, and lack of support from partners and allies was the reason the Houthis are still firing on Israel after crippling both Hamas and Hezbollah. I'm sure most of you guys already knew that, but I didn't. I just thought the Houthis were crazy, but now I know they're just like any other bully, they just need a good ass kicking before they think twice before pushing more buttons.

wrightdI heard on foxy news that Trump repeated his statement seven times, about the consequences to the bad guys in the middle east if Hamas fails to release all their hostages at the time of his taking office. Something along the lines of there will be hell to pay.
This is very encouraging to say the least. We are most definitely past due to start taking names and kicking ass.
I imagine this could take any number for forms, and I'm glad he's got these mfers thinking about their future.

It was reported that Qatar kicked them out.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/...urkey-diplomat-says/ So they go to our ally Turkey? Strange this would happen shortly after our election.

wcb6092Israel must prepare for potential war with Turkey, Nagel Committee warns
The committee, established by the government, warns that Turkey’s ambitions to restore its Ottoman-era influence could lead to heightened tensions with Israel, possibly escalating into conflict.
https://www.jpost.com/israel-n...ack&utm_medium=emailIsrael must prepare for a direct confrontation with Turkey, according to the Nagel Committee's latest report on the defense budget and security strategy.
The committee, established by the government, warns that Turkey’s ambitions to restore its Ottoman-era influence could lead to heightened tensions with Israel, possibly escalating into conflict.
The report highlights the risk of Syrian factions aligning with Turkey, creating a new and potent threat to Israel’s security.
“The threat from Syria could evolve into something even more dangerous than the Iranian threat,” the report states, warning that Turkish-backed forces might act as proxies, fueling regional instability.
The committee’s assessment comes amid Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's increasingly assertive policies in the region, which some analysts view as antagonistic to Israel's interests.
A call for preparation
The Nagel Committee submitted its recommendations to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Monday, outlining a comprehensive strategy to address emerging threats.
The committee proposes increasing the defense budget by up to NIS 15 billion annually over the next five years to ensure the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are equipped to handle challenges posed by Turkey, alongside other regional threats.
Netanyahu addressed the report, stating, “We are witnessing fundamental changes in the Middle East. Iran has long been our greatest threat, but new forces are entering the arena, and we must be prepared for the unexpected. This report provides us with a roadmap to secure Israel’s future.”
Bolstering military capabilities
To prepare for a potential confrontation with Turkey, the committee recommended the following measures:
Advanced weaponry: Acquiring additional F-15 fighter jets, refueling aircraft, drones, and satellites to strengthen Israel’s long-range strike capabilities.
Air defense systems: Enhancing multi-layered air defense capabilities, including the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, Arrow systems, and the newly operational Iron Beam laser-based defense system.
Border security: Constructing a fortified security barrier along the Jordan Valley, which would mark a significant shift in Israel's defensive strategy despite potential diplomatic ramifications with Jordan.

wrightdOk, if 1+2 does not equal 3, then what ?
So, Turkey goes against Israel, or, starts shooting.
And, Turkey is a member of NATO.
So that means, more or less, a NATO country is opposing, resisting, or perhaps going to war with a strong NATO ally.
Since I don't understand how this comes into being beyond what I read about it, this seems a little weired to say the least.
I won't try to claim I could possibly understand it, but isn't this a little like Great Britain firing on the United States ? I know it's not possibly a solid comparison and there is a better one, but I can't imagine what the hell that would be.

sigmonkeyIf NATO starts some shit, NATO has no duty to give a shit.
Israel is very unlikely to attack first without a credible defense of "casus belli" by Turkey.
Israel has often absorbed heavy blows, to have no fear ins standing up and making their case.
And in any case of "first strike", proof of hostile provocation/actions worthy of pre-emptive strike.
Preparing for war is not a proclamation of intent to go to war, but stating that there is a need to prepare themselves and speak loud enough to those neighbors eavesdropping, that Alice may be taking a trip to the moon.
