Not being native to these parts, it's a little jarring to hear Chevrolet pronounced with the accent on the first syllable.

Yes they do, in Central KY there is a town outside of Lexington with the name Versailles and of course there is a Versailles France, neither are pronounced the same.

In KY it's “ver-say-elles”, of course France is "Vr-sai"
