Or do I just not have a cool accent???

I have always said it Mish-a-lun

Here I am watching the FIA World Endurance Championship Lone Star LeMans and they keep saying
Me-shay-lynn

Who is correct or is this just another Dutch/Deutsch kind of thing?

I've always pronounced "mish-a-lun", like you. But I just searched and apparently it's a French company, so "Mee-shay-lynn" would be fair.

Michelin

apparently there is a British and American pronunciation of the word, go figure LOL

Like Aluminum, Michelin has two pronunciations.

You can switch between the correct way and the British Version, slow it down and play through your speakers...

The actual French pronounciation is “Me-Shel-Lan”

Just like the word for wine; Vin is pronounced “Van”

I heard a little tidbit about Michelin the other day. However I have no clue if true or not.

But supposedly the reason Michelin started reviewing restaurants was they wanted people to drive more (to sell more tires) so they started reviewing places to eat way out in the country side so the rich folks would drive their cars further and more often to these places that were getting great reviews but were not near the main town.

Who cares. Big Grin

Whether my motorcycles or cars, I never have cared for them much. I can either get something better for less money (motorcycles: Bridgestone or Metzeler/Pirelli) or get something that is 90-95% as good for $100 less a tire (cars: Contis).

I’m not sure. I don’t pronounce the same way I did when I moved, that is for sure.

Then there’s Wewahitchka. Probably 2,074 people in the world that can pronounce it correctly and only then because they live there.
