2BobTannerKYANG member awarded Airman’s Medal
Combat Controller from Kentucky Air National Guard.
The “Airman’s Medal”, for which he is the subject recipient, is awarded for NON-combat heroism. What story doesn’t say is that he had been previously awarded the Air Force Cross, the highest AF award for heroism, for service while in Afghanistan.
There is only one award higher than both of these for heroism, and that is the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Not at all surprised at how he responded. These USAF Special Warfare folks are a breed apart. They are some of the best trained, the best conditioned, and toughest warriors the U.S. has to offer. God bless our U.S. miliary.

Rolan_KrapsWow! I was a member of the KYANG back in the 1980's. Back then we flew RF-4c recon birds. After I left they switched to C-130s.
