Combat Controller from Kentucky Air National Guard. The “Airman’s Medal”, for which he is the subject recipient, is awarded for NON-combat heroism. What story doesn’t say is that he had been previously awarded the Air Force Cross, the highest AF award for heroism, for service while in Afghanistan.
