Just got done cleaning up my office and finally putting all my reference and general books away. Realized I have a shitload of reference books. Some have gone up in value 5-6 times what I paid for them since they went out of print.

Here are the gun-related reference books in my library.

On top of the bookshelf are assorted non-standard sized books on Japanese, German, US, and Belgian firearms.

1st/Upper row is assorted various countries' firearms on the left (Finnish, Chinese, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Yugoslavian, Swiss, etc.), general non-country-specific firearms reference in the center, and FN firearms on the right.

2nd row is German firearms on the left and in the center, then French firearms in the center-right, and British firearms on the right.

3rd row is US firearms.

4th/Bottom row is military history overflow.

There's another partially seen bookshelf on the left with more military history books. And a third partially seen bookshelf on the right with fiction and other non-gun/military reference books.

One pile of overflow that are awaiting good homes or boxing to keep.

My library data base has over 2100 separate entries, and it needs some updating with recent acquisitions. I have given away or otherwise disposed of perhaps 100 or so, but they’re all books that I own or owned at one time.

And about 300 on my Nook ereader (not including the archived titles).

Added: Most often used references and others.

We offloaded a shitton of paper books about 6 years ago. 36 boxes. We keep a few that cannot be replaced, and have e copies of everything else.

Did not know there were two additions to the War Baby books. I have only 4 carbines.

I think maybe I'll post some of the books I want to get rid of at some point.

Yep!

Volume 1 came out in 1992, then Volume 2 quickly followed in 1993.

Volume 3 came out more recently, in 2013.

History of the German General Staff? I didn’t think I’d ever see that on anyone else’s shelf.

Pretty dry reading, though.

These are my nicest ones. I still have stacks of hardbacks and tons of mass market paperbacks in my closet. I made the shelves, too BTW. Wink

One wall in our living room is bookshelves, we have bookcases down our hall, we have tubs of books in our barn.

I collect books on Africa between 1850 and about 1963 when the continent began seriously shrugging off colonialism. And pick up again with stuff on the Rhodesian Bush War.

Plus 1234 on my Kindle and more at my office. I just took 13 moving boxes full of book of books and traded them in for credit too.
