Being able to put a stinger in it with a ball to be able to push trailers around seems like a solution to not having a problem. Is there another reason, I am stumped?

I have one on my truck. Use it to easily park trailers in tight spaces. I also have a winch mounted in a cradle, with a quick detach power cable run front and back. Sometimes you need to pull yourself out from the back of the truck.

I've seen them used to more easily maneuver trailers in tight spaces, like manufacturers and retailers moving travel trailers or boats around inside a crowded warehouse or storage lot.

It's easier to maneuver when looking through the windshield.

Most of the time you see them here it’s for mounting a winch.

As opposed to mounting a wench.

I've also seen them as a quick connect for a brush guard/bull bar.

I keep a step in mine for easy access to the engine, and I mount a rack/basket into it when I go on the beach

Many people at Our Little Airport have golf carts with hitches on both ends. Hitch on the back is used to schlep an airplane between the hangar and the fuel farm.

Hitch on front is used to maneuver the airplane into tight slots in the hangar.

For the last 15 years or so there has not enough steel in truck bumpers to mount rod racks directly to them, so surf fishermen like me use front receiver hitches...

Sometimes you need an additional or alternative location for truck nuts.

On 2WD trucks you can keep your rear wheels out of the water/muck putting in a boat trailer.

Great idea. I'll have to think about one, it sure as heck would make moving a trailer around easier.

So now you are unstumped, that is better than remaining stumped.
