Wow. They sawed your chest open and you went home 2 days later? Hang in there.

Yep I forced myself to do all the recommended stuff, breathing exercises, walking, had the obligatory BM. The doctor and nurses were impressed. I think the fact that I didn’t have to go on the heart lung machine at all, and only had one bag of plasma administered helped. Yes the doctor did the triple bypass with heart still beating.

The night nurse that I had after the surgery was an angel! Awesome job! She had me to the point of sitting up in about 8 hours after the surgery. The next day the nurse was 180 off. I swear he tried to kill me. He was clueless! I won’t go into those horrors here.

Glad things turned out okay. At least, your surgeon's phone didn't start ringing from your chest.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
