PHpaul, what is the tow rating on your truck. I was told the F350 with the 6.8 and 3.73 rear end was 15,500 lbs. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

A long time ago, I bought a Nissan pickup from a coal miner. He had cut a length of mine conveyor belt to fit the truck bed. That thing was ready for all the abuse I gave it, times ten. The gentleman said he wore out a ton of jigsaw blades cutting it, but it was worth it. The truck, in that configuration, should average around 15 mpg in combined driving. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I'd be shickled titless with that! Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Looking a 2024 F350 Supercab XLT 8' bed with the 7.3 and 4.30 gears. The trade in values will determine if this will work, just like PHpaul Any thoughts on what the 2002 2500 Dodge diesel in good cond. with 240k miles should bring on the private sale market? Well, I'm officially broke AF. Ordered or have picked up: 1. Cross bed tool box 2. Full set of splash guards (mudflaps) 3. Hitch insert for 2.5 receiver 4. Extang bed cover that's compatible with the toolbox. Now all I have to do is pay the excise tax ($900-ish) and put gas in it. And gas in it. And gas... Be careful when following the masses. Good deal PHpaul, sort of. What did you get for mud flaps? Also what is the 2.5" hitch. Larger than than the Tundra hitch? How does the Ford compare to the Tundra. Probably less sporty and more truck like? "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Splash Guards are Weathertech, no drill. $180 for a set of four, but Ford was out of their tiny little mind for what they wanted for them. Could have gone cheaper but ya gets what ya pays for. If you're lucky... Standard light truck hitch receiver is 2" (Class 3??) and all I've ever had and I've had several 3/4 ton trucks. 2.5 inch is Class 5 AFAIK. And in terms of ride, comfort and load/tow capability...No comparison. Tundra was an SUV with a really big trunk, F250 is a TRUCK! Be interesting to see how much difference I notice when it comes time to tow the Cabota. Tundra didn't have a problem with it, but you knew it was back there. Be careful when following the masses. At the dealer now, paperwork drill. It is actually an 8 foot bed as someone noticed. Tall sumbitch. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I've a few. 13 is probably a better number. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

PHPaul, I know you said you got the weather tec mud flaps. Are they big enough or marginal. My F350 is a big muther and I am wondering if they are big enough for a big one ton truck. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I'd have to look at grandson's new-to-him F350 to be sure, but they cover the big tires on my 250 satisfactorily. I'll grab a couple pictures later this morning. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Truck hasn't been washed since I bought it, a little mud/dirt road driving, sides are clean. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

In my experience (twice) Carvana does not change the deal at the lot if you are honest on the front end. Try a quote from them, if you've not yet got it worked out. (I didn't read all four pages)..

Ok, thanks PHPaul. Glad yours are working out. They look good. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

The F-250 and the F-350 SRW are essentially the same truck as far as the body goes. There might be a difference in transmission and suspension but that’s about it. I have an F-350 SRW LB 4x4 diesel also. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

Smlsig, thanks and I agree but the husky and weather tec look a tad small for this size of truck to me. I don't need behemoth mudflaps but something that looks the part and is big enough to do the job is important. I do not plan to lift or put huge tires on the truck either.
