Rey HRH"Citing 'institutionalized racism,' Madison PD ends credit checks for prospective cops"
Policies like these are against the minority in question. A minority gets in, and the word is, "He got in despite his bad credit" or whatever equity policy they have in force. It throws shade on all members of that minority. It certainly makes minorities feel like second class citizens. Way to go, liberals.

Oscars fatherAs a fellow who worked in Internal Affairs once explained to me: a credit check is merely one aspect of a multi faceted look at a candidate’s judgment. A bad report provides an opportunity to discuss the circumstances and gain further insight into a candidate. He was not aware of anyone being cut for “bad credit “. Indeed, he himself was called to an evaluation when his score/report tanked due to a divorce.
There were a few instances of a candidate lying about their report. Showed a deficiency that otherwise may not have been readily apparent.
Used as part of a tool set, in the right hands, they can be quite useful.
