Actor Sean Connery passes away
He WAS James Bond for me for over 50 years. I may take my PPK out for a salute next week.

R.I.P. Mr. Connery. You will be missed.

He had a great catalog of work.

Unfortunately for those of us in our 60’s, most of the people we grew up watching were likely 30 years older than us. So our actor influences are approaching 90.

Going to be more. Unfortunately no one lives forever.

RIP Mr Bond

Sean Connery was a man's man, on-screen and off. I applaud him for for his great screenwork and for retiring from Hollywierd.

I was happy to read he was surrounded by loved ones when he slipped this mortal realm.

Thanks Sean for the moments in my life and others that you brought us on the silver screen. RIP, Sir Connery

For us golfers, one of our favorite Bond lines is four words from Goldfinger:

“I’m standing on it.”

It was my favorite too, I was going to mention it, thank you for doing so. A date and I watched this movie at a local theater so many years ago.

Mr. Connery & Michael Caine gave a great performance, both as a duo, and individually. But in retrospect, most all of his performances were great.

Farewell.

So was every other Bond actor. But let's not let that derail this thread. For that all you have to say is 'Zardoz'.

So RIP to the Bond's Bond, and the only captain in the Russian missile boat fleet with a horrendous Scottish accent.

So many great roles. I will always remember him in the Bond franchise and Highlander.

RIP. The Hunt for Red October is in our regular movie night rotation. The Man Who Be King is a personal favorite. Need to revisit the entire Connery filmography.

I missed an opportunity to have dinner with him and Daniel J Travanti when they were filming a movie in Miami years ago. Dan is a friend of my wife. Unfortunately, we were heading out of town that day. I will always regret that.

That great scene was choreographed by hapkido master Bong Soo Han (d.2007), who also did the Billy Jack movies. A dramatic example of pressure point defense.
