Walking through my yard at the cabin. This one looks very skinny & likely in poor health. You can see ribs, shoulders, and hip bones all showing through. There are plenty of healthy prey animals up there including a nice herd of deer. I'm guessing this cat is too sick or too old to hunt effectively. I've been told that makes it particularly dangerous to fat-ol'-me & my dogs.

As I'm sure you are aware, any cat is particularly dangerous to you and your dogs.

That one does look awfully skinny. Long winter?

We had a lot of snow, but everything else looks robust & well fed. Particularly the deer & elk. There are foxes everywhere. The cabin is at 6200' and most of the really heavy snow was above that. Everything else came down out of it to feed & winter.

FWIW, I had another one come through last February (2018) in the dead of winter & he was burly & thick. Looked to be pushing 200lbs. according to a neighbor's estimate.

We used to have a cabin in the woods here in Missouri, and I would not like to think anything like that was walking around at night.
