Newsom will have to appoint a senator to replace her, my feeling is this one.

She was a better mayor than a Senator.
Having lived through the era, she kept a lid on all the wackjobs that infested SF during the 1970's, and was actually very supportive of the military by starting Fleet Week, certain neighborhoods looked like a WWII-era movie, sailors and Marines everywhere. While her political career was shaped by the Moscone assassination, it wasn't until she became a senator did banning guns become a tent-pole issue for her. Her anti-2A crusading while possessing a concealed carry license was all anyone needed to see in the hypocrisy of her arguments.

Going to be a great day!

Feels like I should get a T-shirt made or something to commemorate it.

Wait til y’all get a load of her replacement Barbara Lee. She squawks a lot which will drive you nuts but will be nothing more than a party line vote.

I believe Newsom openly stated the replacement will be someone of color and female.
