ftttuI retired after +26 years in LE...
Congratulations, and welcome to the finish line!
I retired mid July with 28.5 years, trying for 30, but not able to go the extra mile. I’m an active reserve now, but I will probably end that by year’s end.

whododatCongratulations and enjoy it to the fullest. I retired after 31 years in New Jersey. I would definitely be careful carrying in NJ. I escaped from there as soon as I could! Their Governor said he wanted it to be the east coast California and he is doing everything to make that happen.
Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

urbanwarrior238Congrats, well deserved..But..staying that last month for your "last" trial, I have to chuckle a little. I retired 7-years ago after 30 and they are now trying to get me to court (out of state) for a 1999 case

It seems we can never really retire!!

LOL. All my stuff had statute of limitations.
I caught my only fugitive...the other one Peter Pan'ed off a bridge in S. CA. Sadly...he was looking at 20 years! (He had been on the run for +15 years)
So...clean sheet. Which is nice.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Congrats on the retirement!
Hopefully the Corporate Security gig is stress free and allowes plenty of free time!!!
I just went over 28 a few days ago. Unfortunately my finish line got kicked back a few years, but it's all going to work out for the best (I hope).
To all of you retired folks (or people for those that get the joke), can you do us working stiffs a favor-
Try not to catch all the fish, shoot all the deer/duck or drink all the good bourbon, PLEASE!
Save some for us!!!
