I’m not sure how Spanberger got “picked,” honestly. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

I relocated to VA from Ohio right after 9-11 to being working in LE. I lived there for 17 years and for the life of me cannot figure out what some of those residents thought process is when it comes to voting. Lt. Gov Earle-Sears, served in the US Marines, believes in a strong family, educated, created and operated a blue collar business, served in various branches of government, etc.. I cannot believe the Police Association endorsed Spanberger. A lot of my former co-workers are not pleased with this at all.

I reluctantly left Virginia in 2020 during COVID. I had lived in Va for over forty years, not including my time as an undergraduate at the Univ. of Virginia. Over the decades I saw the gradual drift towards the left, much of it fueled by the infusion of lefties into the federal government and simple relocation from the Northeast states. For me, the decision point was the elections of 2019, When the leftist governor McAuliffe was elected as Governor, I put into play my plans to retire in my alternative, South Carolina. Like others and as retired LE, I was surprised, and disappointed, that police associations are endorsing Spanberger. How many of these associations have looked at her record in LE? I suspect they hope she will be pro-union. Over the past five years I have contemplated moving back to Viriginia for my final retirement, but alas that is very unlikely if she is elected Governor.

Everything I've seen and read this morning has described Spanberger as "evasive" during last night's debate. She's also dancing around the whole Jay Jones issue. (I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen the Jay Jones issue* discussed here yet.) TV last night was covered up with ads promoting Spanberger, and funded by Everytown For Gun Safety. I felt the ads were deceiving and somewhat hypocritical. Something I read recently (and can't find again as I write this) said that there were roughly 50 gun-control related bills sent to Governor Youngkin's desk in the last term, and all were vetoed. The article went on to say that Spanberger is one who would likely have approved every one of those, pushing Virginia to be more like California and Illinois in terms of gun laws. This is something we should be making our friends and neighbors aware of, left and right. Spanberger is also quoted as wanting to make Virginia a "sanctuary state." FoxNews link: Earle-Sears comes out swinging in heated debate as Spanberger dodges Jay Jones questions I'm not sure what's holding up President Trump on offering an Earle-Sears endorsement, but I hope he'll do it soon and that it will have a solid and positive effect on her campaign. There may be things about the Lieutenant Governor to not like, but I believe she will be better for Virginia and for Virginians than Spanberger. - - - - - The Jay Jones issue Disturbing text messages from Jay Jones, Virginia candidate for Attorney General, have surfaced recently. Another link, mentioning Winsome Earle-Sears' recent ad, attacking Spanberger and the Jones issue. Senator Tim Kaine has essentially condoned Jones' behavior, and Senator Mark Warner has been silent when pressed on whether Jones should drop out of the race. In my opinion, it's time for both Kaine and Warner to exit Virginia politics. They've ruined enough. More from Newsweek and WTVR. Regarding President Trump and endorsement in VA...he did this at the midterms and the elections did not go well for Republicans. I fear he may be retaining political capital for races with more certainty. I was at a local huge outdoors store this past weekend and listened to the LtGov speak. It was a very small crowd, not very enthusiastic, and her remarks were met mostly with polite applause. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

Kinda my point... we need for people to start getting enthusiastic. I think Abigail is not an ally of We The People. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

I don't know what Ms. Earle-Sears' advertising is like in the northern end of the state, but I don't see much of it down in this end. I hope her campaign will step it up soon. The local media in this area are all saying Spanberger won the debate handily. Most of the coverage was negative about Earle-Sears' performance. "Even if the world were perfect it wouldn't be." ... Yogi Berra

Quite the contrast to four years ago. I attended several of Winsome's rallies, and the enthusiasm level was very high. I will credit Trump's MAGA push for some of it at that time, but the lesser interest now seems to me to be related to the relatively minor changes that have occurred during "Squish" Youngkin's term. I think we all expected more from him and his team, even hindered as they have been by the State legislators. WRT media reports on the debate, in NoVA, at least, the media seems to be ignoring it entirely, as if it had never happened.

Poll: Republican Winsome Earle-Sears and Democrat Abigail Spanberger in Dead Heat in Virginia Governor’s Race https://www.breitbart.com/poli...inia-governors-race/ Abigail Spanberger, the Democrat nominee for governor in Virginia, is narrowly leading current Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, the Republican nominee for governor in Virginia, according to a recent poll. The poll also found that Spanberger’s lead over Earle-Sears is within the margin of error. A Trafalgar Group poll conducted between October 8-10, 2025, that surveyed 1,066 likely general election voters, found that if the election were to be held tomorrow, 47.7 percent of respondents would vote for Spanberger, while 45.1 percent would vote for Earle-Sears. The poll also found that 5.6 percent of respondents were undecided. The poll also had a 2.9 percent margin of error. While the poll found that Spanberger was leading in the governor’s race, 48.9 percent of respondents said they would vote for current Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares (R), while 43.1 percent said they would vote for Jay Jones, the Democrat nominee for attorney general in the state. Miyares’ lead in the poll over Jones comes after the National Review published an article revealing text messages showing that Jones sent messages to Virginia House Delegate Carrie Coyner (R) in 2022, entertaining a hypothetical situation in which he would shoot former Virginia Speaker of the House of Delegates Todd Gilbert. A spokesman for Coyner told the Washington Post that Coyner and Jones had a phone conversation after the text messages were sent. Following their phone call, in another text conversation, Jones also allegedly “talked about Gilbert’s children dying in the arms of their mother.” During a recent debate between Spanberger and Earle-Sears, when asked if she still endorsed Jones, Spanberger stated that it was “up to every voter to make their own individual decision.” “I am running for governor,” Spanberger added. “I am accountable for the words that I say, for the acts that I take, for the policies that I have put out.” _________________________
