With the lug nuts, you definitely want the torque the 18-20V models give you. You won't find a ratchet in 18-20V so you're going to have to have two different battery systems anyway. It's not that big of a deal. If you do go with Milwaukee for the ratchet, I'd recommend going with the smaller 2.0 Ah batteries since they'll provide more clearance when working in an engine bay

Milwaukee 18V system is just as good as, if not better than, Dewalt's 20V system. Milwaukee has chargers that charge both the 12 and 18V batteries. An 18V impact and a 12V ratchet would have gone together perfectly. Now you have two different brands and two completely different chargers to deal with. It's not the end of the world, but it's not what most people would do.

Maybe I need to state it differently? I like the DeWalt 20 volt line over the Milwaukee 18 volt line. Has nothing to do with 20 volt vs 18 volt, but has everything to do with liking DeWalt 20 volt line up over the Milwaukee 18 volt line up.

I believe you're going to be very happy with your choice of tools.

I am a fan of the Ryobi One+ brushless from Home Depot. I have about 12 different tools that all take the same battery, plus the 1/2 impact gun. No issues at all. If I was to make a living with my tools, I would go Dewalt or Milwaukee. Sigs P-220, P-226 9mm, & P-230SL (CCW)
