Is this the one you mean?

Shows you how old I am. I remember when Acme was an actual feed store, and Broadway was full of run down peep show businesses & real dive bars selling 50 cent mugs of draft beer...

Pancake Pantry for breakfast. Lines on weekends are insane, weekdays better.

My college girlfriend was a Vanderbilt girl. Didn't keep her, but kept the Pancake Pantry every time I'm in Nashville.

If you do make the trip down to Jack Daniels on a Friday or Saturday, I highly recommend making a reservation to eat at Miss Mary Bobo's if you like great down home cooking. Times are pretty particular.

Avoid Antioch unless you want to get into a shootout or plain old fashioned robbery. I don't go to Nashville without carrying at all times anymore. The place has turned into a mini Chicago in some parts of town.

A co-worker took his wife out on date night to a new to them restaurant on Murfreesboro road. He overshot the destination and turned into the next side street to turn back. Thug #1 stepped in front of his car, Thug #2 stepped up beside the passenger side side from the sidewalk. They immediately open fire... No warning... nothing. His wife was struck in the chest and he was hit in the arm and thigh.

He did not hesitate and floored the gas and sped away, likely saving their lives. He stopped at a nearby convince store for help... They locked him out when they saw him bleeding and struggling to get to the door. Eventually an ambulance came.

He mostly recovered and was back at work in about 6 months but could not handle it and had to quit. His wife survived as well, kind of, permanent serious problems.

Cops think it was a gang protecting its turf, no arrest were ever made. Two lives shattered in the blink of an eye just because he picked the wrong place to turn around on a major highway.

This happened a couple miles from where I worked... so glad to be retired and not have to venture into Nashville every day anymore.

If you're a meat eater...Kayne Prime....the waygu filet is amazing and the bacon / cotton candy. Yes I know that sounds weird but trust me.

We like trying out different BBQ places when we travel south - On our way back from GA last summer we ate at Peg Leg Porker and I thought the ribs were pretty good - others in the family got the pulled pork and that was good too. Kids also tried the Kool-Aid pickles (I got a taste and thought those were a little odd) and fried pies...

The Jack Daniels distillery is about 90 minutes away. My daughter thought the best pulled pork she had on this trip was at Barrel House BBQ in Lynchburg.

Nashville is pretty rough

I would keep my eyes wide open and my head on a swivel. There is a juvenile delinquent problem and it does not seem to be getting any better.

If you like Southern cooking, Loveless Café is a great place to eat. It's always busy so either call for a reservation or expect a wait. They have a nice area to walk, shop, or sit, though, if you show up and wait. Neat place with great food (did I say that already? Smile ) appetizers to dessert, and everything in between.

Hah hah hah.... yes it is! Not as bad as Atlanta, IMHO, but still awful, especially during afternoon/evening rush hour(s).

I live about 90 miles south so go there somewhat frequently. If you like live music, the Wild Horse Saloon in downtown is pretty awesome! I photographed the regional finale of the Nashville Star television show back when it was a thing... a friend of mine was in the competition, so I ended up front row right against the stage next to the camera crews. One of the best nights of my life!!!

Edit to add: Here is a quick sampling of what I shot that evening...
