Republican Introduces Anti-Gun Bill
Terrible idea that will accomplish nothing. It will embolden Democrats.

Gents, to me it sounds like one (meaning an anti-gun politician) could interpret this to include lighter triggers or short-reset triggers. Who knows what else.
Seems way too vague.

Well that would ban quite a few things for sure.
10/22 Gattling gun kits, trigger crank attachment, binary triggers, echo triggers, and others besides bump stocks. Mad

This is precisely why the NRA was trying to head this off with the ATF taking the lead rather than legislation. It's incredible (well not really) that a Republican would introduce this turd.

No new legislation. Period.

One more step in the demise of the Republican party. They are now same, part and parcel as their opposition (former opposition).

I don't know what's worse, the wording of the bill or the fact that people in their quest for their 15 minutes of fame on YouTube post stuff with firearms that is either the equivalent of "Hold my beer and watch this!" or a detailed video about how to do stupid, questionable crap with firearms that reflects poorly on all gun owners. No stopping to think on whether they should, only that they could. Roll Eyes

The NRA needs to STFU. They dont speak for all gun owners.

Isn't that simply unconfirmed speculation as to their motives, aka wishful thinking?

This quote is taken directly from the horses ass, err mouth... from Wayne LaPierre, Jr., himself, in the very first statement he made on behalf of the NRA following this event:

Source

quote:
The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations

There's the guy right there, the man in charge of running the organization tasked with helping protect our Rights, and he is not only conflating such devices with Automatic Weapons but is also proactively advocating additional regulations. This is a far cry from some clever strategy intended to head off such regulations at the proverbial pass.

I heard Steve Bannon say he was waging war on all of these non conservative republicans. We need to get them the hell out of office. What a bunch of turn coat pieces of shit!

No surprise really that someone who is at risk at being no re-elected would betray us. Their political survival is more important than everything else.

Two thoughts. One, is this moron going to propose legislation to ban my right index finger given I can sustain a high rate of fire with it? And two, what about the two short throw trigger assemblies I have in my AR's? They facilitate rapid rates of fire. Is this nitwit going to try and ban them too? Good luck, because those items are not coming out of my guns for anyone.

This is more stupid on steroids (i.e. exactly what I expect from Washington).

Waaaayyyyy too broad.

Broad enough that you might even be able to get a supreme court decision against it, since aftermarket/enhanced triggers have been in mainstream use for decades.

I expect this sort of stupid from Dims. Somebody primary this asshole.

Yep, so broad there are no limits to it except a musket. Under this law, they would ban Jerry Miculek's finger!
