Have a slow close downstairs that gets used a lot...sometimes my back aches and I dont really feel like leaning all the way over to gently put the seat down...

We spent a few weeks this Spring with our daughter in Florida, they have the soft close seats. I did have to readjust after getting home. But, yesterday my wife installed soft close seats, tried to surprise me. Now I have to readjust, again. "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. I like soft closing seats. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

We’ve had a soft-close in our master bath for quite awhile. Right now, the other two bathrooms in the house have regular seats. I’m pretty used to it, but every once in awhile, I’ll drop a seat. I think I’ll change them. Those that have posted that they don’t have soft close, they really are pretty nice, and as home upgrades go—-inexpensive. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I bought a Mayfair slow close toilet seat. When new, both the lid and seat slow closed, but after six months the lid has lost its slow close property. Hard to understand why. The slow close mechanism is viscous grease. There’s no evidence that it leaked out, so what the heck happened? Serious about crackers.

I like the, and have them on all my toilets. As far as closing the seat, the last time I forgot, my daughter was about 15 months. I heard a shriek and cry from the restroom one night, and ran in to find her stuck ass-down in the toilet. She's 26 now and I still haven't forgotten.

If I've encountered one I haven't noticed. But I don't slam them in general. Maybe once a year. Lids stay down in my home, always. Equal Rights, everyone opens and closes it themselves. Looks better, and the dogs can't get in them even if they wanted to.

I bought one, a few years ago. We liked it so much that, now, that's all we have. Of course, the result is that every time I piddle in another toilet other than the home john, I slam the seat. Oh, well. And it's hard to explain without sounding like some elitist jerk when you walk back to the living room after the slam and all the folks are looking at you like you just had a meltdown. "Oh, soory, it's just that I'm used to our Slow Close toilet seats which this cheapskate ain't got. Bob

Bought one years ago when my little man (3yr-old) slammed his gentleman's sausage with the seat and lid. Yep, I guess that's possible... ________________________ P229 Stainless Elite P320 X-Five Legion P320 X-Carry
