Do not recall that I/we ever watched a NFL game.

And from what we read or see on TV about them, it has been an excellent decision on our part.

Well, we were active Seahawks fans. This year, we're not watching or listening or doing anything. I was looking forward to a good season of football, but not now. My wife is disappointed, but she gets it.

I talked about what I read in this thread this morning with a coworker. We concluded that it just really never pays to run from the police. The boss's daughter showed up a half hour later and opens up with "did you hear about Michael Bennet getting racially profiled? Cop says 'yeah, the guy was real fast' and I'm thinking 'yeah, well, he's a defensive end in the National League, he should be. They should have been listening when he was asking 'Do you know who I am?!' and they're damn lucky they stopped there." Roll Eyes

I told her cops hear that "you don't know who you're messing with, I'm the governor's brother, I'm going to have your badge, you idiot" about once every other arrest. Also, the bodycam footage shows them telling other black men to get on the floor, who complied and were left alone, but Bennett ran, and was chased. He was the first one to bring up race. She countered with "well, they were looking for a black suspect, and he was black so I guess that was good enough." I then informed her they had no description of a suspect and were simply responding to a call of shots fired and looking for an active shooter. Bennett ran. But I guess he could have been an albino and they wouldn't have chased him, right? Oh, and the arresting officers were both Hispanic, so it must have been racially motivated. No response. Roll Eyes

The brainwashing is working. The narrative they sell out here in whackyland never gets questioned.

What would JJ Watt do?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I encourage you to call, write, and email everyone from ticket sales to owner to PR dept and tell them as much. It does no good to silently boycott them. Let them know why they are selling one less jersey or one less pair of tickets.

Thank goodness he is in the NFL, as this is a clear indication that he's a forthright citizen in every way and would never break the law.

Unfortunately the only thing that made THIS Michael Bennet Famous is sitting during the national Anthem.
I feel sorry for the other Michael Bennet in the NFL.
I have a friend who was a Deputy. He got stopped at 3am and was asked where he was going and where he had been. He was also white. He was not speeding, but when the HP officer saw his gun on the passenger seat, he drew down on my friend.

The only thing my friend was mad about was that after the stop the HP officer backed up the on ramp of the Interstate highway they were on.

If I recall Bennett stated that he was singled out because he was black. Really. Just about everyone the stack of officers ran by was black, or at least it appeared that 90% of the crowd was black, but they singled YOU out... because you were black.

Do you listen to any music? Watch any TV or movies at all?

I only ask because if you do any of the above I am not sure how you can consider your entertainment choices to be any holier than mine. I watch football. I am not an "addict" but I do like it. Yes, there are leftist pieces of shit who play football. There are wife beaters and drunk drivers and all sorts of assholes. But no more so than there are leftist actors or musicians who beat their wives. Watching football doesn't make me a supporter of every football players cause. Just like watching a movie doesn't make you a supporter for every actor, producer and directors cause.

I wish we could get a law enforcement boss who would take time to explain why officers might be carrying their weapons when going to a shooting call. I wish they would take the time to explain suspect ID and how poor the information we have as relayed by dispatch. I wish they would explain why running from the scene and hurdling barricades(running like you stole it) might be a bit more suspicious. Explain how and why officers can detain people during investigations.

This exactly! Freeze the scene.

For me, the real showstopper for me is that the NFL as been consistently anti-gun as an organization. Look at causes they have supported and policies they have endorsed, and even implemented for their employees.

Google around and you will see that I'm correct.

As an aside, I don't support any of the anti-gun actors or their movies. As for music, I only listen to music from 40 years ago Smile I don't even know who the modern artists are.

I am disappointed with Bennett.
First, he's sitting during the National Anthem, now he's claiming racial discrimination from the LVPD.

That's a lot of whining for a tough football player.

News flash, Bennett. Life isn't fair.
Not everyone is going to like you.
That goes for people of every race.

One of the things I've learned in life is to be careful where I go, and when I go. It helps minimize the chance I'll be caught up in a bad situation.

I'll concede that police sometimes make mistakes. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt unless there's good evidence to the contrary.

I really wish the NFL would put a stop to players disrespecting the flag.
Players should do their SJW-thing on their own time.

If I was in charge of the NFL, the message would be pretty simple.
Respect the flag, or you don't play that day.

Lots of those artists from 40 and 50+ years ago are anti-gun, anti-trump and generally anti-American. It's not a new trend.

If you truly avoid all forms of entertainment that fund anyone that you disagree with then my hat's off to you. But you are in the extreme minority. I'd wager most everyone here complaining about sports spends plenty of money on movies, TV shows, books and music produced by people who are vocally leftists.

For my part I cancelled Sunday Ticket after 10 years or so of having it, cancelled NFL game pass after 3 years and don't plan on turning my TV to football at all. I'll still watch some games if I'm out at a bar on gameday and I'll take my son to one this year but for me the NFL is getting too far from the entertainment that it used to be for me. That doesn't mean that I hate the NFL or think people who watch it are somehow less patriotic than someone who watches a movie that stars George Clooney. It's just not for me anymore.

That's where a growing number of people seem to be....
It's not really a protest or a boycott so much as it is just a choice to spend time and money somewhere else.
