Power, money, and corruption is at the heart of the immigration issue. Even if they don’t vote, they were still including them in the census shifting the number of congressional seats. The left is so drunk for power and control they got in bed with the communist (DSA) and are in the midst of losing control of their own party. In my lifetime I never would have guessed that Stalinist marxists could be elected into our government.

The right isn’t much better better with their own Rhino problems. The fact we can’t even get our government to pass legislation to keep our elections safe from fraud is telling.

The only reason the stance changes is they money stops flowing into the politicians pockets. In that case they’ll abandon the old grift in favor of a new one and whatever useless idiots they can exploit next.

The leftist citizenry are incapable of seeing the connection to consequences. Their beliefs are concrete. Diversity is good. Immigrants have a moral right to come here, and we have no right to prevent them. Humanity consists of 2 groups, oppressors and the oppressed. Since liberals are good people, they aren’t oppressors, and thus they love welcoming the oppressed.

Conservatives are mean and bad. Trump is everything horrible. By definition, then, policies of conservatives are evil and create harm (probably via oppression).

Only when the large majority of liberal earners see their personal circumstances being bad and realize it is because of specific policies will they turn from those policies. Whether it be taxation or crime, or feeling that those they thought were in need are actually doing better than them, they will have to feel personally. They need to be mugged, literally or figuratively, by reality to be shocked out of their blindness.

The quality of life is too good for many of the leftists, and most are busy with daily life. The bad stuff the evil R’s warn about isn’t happening to the typical blue state liberal personally, at least as far as they recognize it.

Around here, the hard working legal immigrants and 2nd generation Americans we know are all very opposed to illegal immigration. It’s the white guilt crowd with ample money that support it. Plus the scheming politicians and profit hungry exploiters support it.

There is also a large measure of not going against the group. The left generally are not individualists. They categorize people into groups, and they self-identify by group.

Human nature is to not stand out from the group if there is a perceived cost, and there is a big cost to leaving the leftist fold. As my son said 10 years ago in college, “The risk on campus isn’t in being conservative, it is in not being liberal enough”.

As long as the impression is that the majority in a blue state remain supportive of the blue agenda, individuals who start seeing the light will keep their mouths shut to not get what-a-moled. The leftist bubble in media and pop culture keeps them isolated.

And I disagree, IMO illegal immigration is the crux of the election problem, everything revolves around it, it is what drives the left's constant corruption on the matter. Take CA for example, perhaps the most leftist state in the U.S. and the most corrupt in regards to elections- they are a Sanctuary State, throw billions of dollars at illegals, allow them drivers licenses/state IDs while voter registration is now automatic at the DMV. I could see some blue states coming to reality on immigration but not before Trump retires. I actually expect moderate democrats to assert themselves in the party at some point after the demise of Trump fractures the hate cult they have spent a decade creating. Right now, they allow the fringe elements of the party to pretty much set the agenda.
