He already did that, at the bottom of his initial post. Both credited the author and provided a link to the original publication.

It's just the trend on the forum that people tend to skim over long articles, and overlook details like that, especially towards the end.

I don't really want to pile on here, but Im going to.

I read this thread: AITA etc. The text was rather long, and I confess I missed the link at the bottom to Medscape--but as the readers above who complained about the way the OP was formatted, I came away thinking ZSMichael was a female oncologist!!

Why? LACK OF QUOTE MARKS.

It's really simple to put a long text in quotes, and vastly superior to post the link at the top rather than at the bottom.

Since this has happened at least twice, I am going to forego reading ZSMichael's threads for now, and see if these positive criticisms have their desired effect.

I always put a pair of quotes around quoted text. This post for example.

On the rare occasion I post an article I use the quote tags for the text of the article and post the link at the top.

I don't get all the complaints here. The post credited the author and a link was provided. Could it have been structured differently? Sure, I guess. I didn't feel mislead.

It was a good article, informative and relevant to the current state of medicine, and I believe posted with good intent. Then there was the bickering and the value of the article got lost in the shuffle.

Okay, you post made me laugh. Thank you.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I agree completely. To avoid any confusion, the link could have been provided at the top.

There definitely no intent to mislead. As a matter of fact, I know it took some effort to parse the paragraphs and make it readable. I've seen straight copy and paste jobs of articles here and you can tell - something about captions of pictures that are not there or references to advertisements.

To get this back on track about the current state of medical care:
I had seen a Cardiac EP several times and had a loop monitor installed. He ended up leaving. They tried to give me a runaround about having my cardiologist refer me again. I expressed my displeasure with this.
I think they were trying to either kick me to the curb or for me to kick my regular cardiologist to the curb and go to one in their group. I'm not kicking my cardiologist to the curb because he saved my ass in 2009 and has been good to me since.
So, I called the other office of the group and related the story to the girl on the phone. she said what the first office told me was wrong and she made me an appointment with other EP on the same day and time as my original follow-up was scheduled.
We'll see how this goes in November.
