Thought I'd share my experience.

I'm mobility challenged among other things. Hauling a 5 gallon bucket of mop water up or downstairs on one of my sets of stair lifts is simply a non-starter.

My youngest son had been coming over to do housework but with this CV19 crap that isn't happening.

A friend, also dealing with the same "C" I am, commented that the Bissell steam mops were great tools. He and his wife have a 1806 which has been replaced by the 1940 series. Got the Wal-Mart flavor, model 1940W, picked up and delivered for me.

First use was today and oh my does this sucker work well. Used distilled water, no fragrance disc, non-scrubber basic pad, and steam settings of medium and high. The one tank got me through the kitchen, dining room, and one of the non-carpeted bathrooms.

For $79 it is well worth the upgrade from mop and pail. Highly recommended!

We have one of those. And have vinyl plank throughout Casa de Mike. Love ours.

I am in love with ours.
Also consider a rooba or iRobot for vacuuming.
They really do work well but can be a little loud. We nicknamed ours "Crashy"
Love that little guy!

We’ve had one for about 4 years now (probably the older model you reference) and love it. Not sure on the newer model be be careful with the lid of the water reservoir not to over tighten or it will crack hat least ours did).

Been using a Shark Genius Hard Floor Cleaning System Pocket (S5003D) Steam Mop for 2 years.
Very happy with it.
Easy to change the pads, I can do it without touching them.
Use them on kitchen ceramic tile and wood laminates throughout the house..
Has 3 different settings HI, MED, LOW, plus a burst of steam when I flip it over..
