I think it could be possible. But it would definitely be purposeful.

I actually stumped the Sigforum braintrust once. I even called it in the thread title when I posted it knowing it was a crazy long shot.
To be fair even the lead singer of the band could not answer the question. Though my details were slightly off.

I asked a question once and all the smart asses came out of the woodwork.

I didn't get an answer, but it was a more entertaining thread.

I can't remember a legitimate question being asked without a proper, legitimate answer being given. With authoritative source.

I will attest to that as well. The wealth of information here is remarkable, and the desire for members to help one another is also incredible.

I asked a question about my grandfathers last reported rate in the US Navy. It was listed as LQM. A few guesses but sadly seemed no one could provide a definite answer. It’s rare but it happens occasionally.

Look again. Your question was, “Anybody have a clue what I am talking about?”. Within 20 minutes 46and2 said he had no idea. Question answered. Big Grin

I was making my post referring to the original original post. The OP actually added the second part, "or wasn't answered by someone a member response", after his original post was made. Wink

The was a question about questions the forum couldn't answer.

I don't recall seeing a definitive answer.

I disagree with your statement. Unless you are saying that you are NOT a member of the sf braintrust, you did not stump us. You simply answered your own question. We use this strategy fairly often when we feel that the one posing the question would best be served by answering the question for themselves. It's a fairly common educational strategy. Smile

From the little I could find, LAM is Leading Air Mechanic, perhaps LQm - Leading Quartermaster, as searches always found it on various Navy sites with the small m...

or not..
