I asked a question about my grandfathers last reported rate in the US Navy. It was listed as LQM. A few guesses but sadly seemed no one could provide a definite answer. It’s rare but it happens occasionally.

I was making my post referring to the original original post. The OP actually added the second part, "or wasn't answered by someone a member response", after his original post was made.

I disagree with your statement. Unless you are saying that you are NOT a member of the sf braintrust, you did not stump us. You simply answered your own question. We use this strategy fairly often when we feel that the one posing the question would best be served by answering the question for themselves. It's a fairly common educational strategy.
